Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Analysis of the final destination
- 1. Analysis of ‘The Final Destination’ The Final Destination is a typical thriller film as it holds suspense, tension and has a general theme of a twisted plot.
- 3. Important things are emphasised, such as the bench snapping, which could later lead to something a lot more serious.
- 4. When the oil spills, suspending music is played to give off the impression that this also could lead to something much worse. It also makes the audience realise it more, if there is dramatic music playing.
- 6. The natural lighting gives off the impression that the event that occurs is natural, in the sense that no one is making it happen, as in a monster or something super natural.
- 8. There are some point of view shots, to emphasise the speed of the cars and to suggest what might happen if they are going so fast.
- 9. There are also close ups in certain things, like the bench breaking and the ceiling cracking to make a big deal out of something very small, to show that something could occur to make those little things a much bigger problem and to show they’re important.
- 11. During the action, everything is linked; scrambling people, cars flipping and fire. The fast editing gives off that everything is chaotic and manic ion a scramble to save lives.
- 12. A lot of CGI is obviously used to emphasise the accident and make it seem action packed.
