1. José Luis Chávez Torres Final proyect Summit 2 Introduction I started to study at Fine Tuned English when I was 12 years old. This decision became a life changing experience because it helped me a lot in different ways. When I stared I didn’t have knowledge of English. Every day I improved my English a little. Since I started to study in this academy, I didn’t have any problem when I was in high school. Also, I made new friends from different countries. Now that I am in college I realize that this decision was the best decision that I ever made because it is very important to know English in order to learn new things about my career. English also provides good opportunities to work. These are the reason that I am very grateful for this academy. It has been a life changing experience not only for the reason that I am learning a new language, but also because I have met people who have became on my friends. I shared this experience with them. I have shared with them moments that now I keep in my mind like a treasure. I had very good teachers, who were not only professors, they were friends too. They have shared their knowledge very well, so students learn excellent English. Now that I am doing the final project, I realize that one of my dreams will come true. This project is important to do in order to present all of the knowledge that we received in the academy. Also, it is important because we can show that learning new things is not impossible. I think that this semester we got an excellent project; the reason is that we have to translate a book about our beautiful city. It will help tourism a lot, because many people of different countries will know about our city. Translation since page 85 until page 88 Arupo Rosado (pink Arupo) Is an original tree from Loja, specifically from Paltas town. It belongs to the botanic family Oleceae, and its scientific name is chimonanthus pubescen. It has beautiful flowers but in order to admire those flowers, we need to wait 15 years; the amount of time the tree takes to blossom for the first time. Cattleya Lila Is one of the orquídeas(flowers) typical and representative of Loja province, its scientific name is: Cattleya maxima, and we can find it in almost every town except in those towns that have cold weather, like Saraguro. Chuquiragua This plant is also called “Flor del Andinista” (Andinista’s flower) because it grows at 3000 meters above sea level. Its scientific name is chuquiragua jussieui. This photo was taken at Jimbura’s lake in Espindola town. Pomarrosa Pomarrosa’s flower has a different form from the rest of the flowers. The form that the flower has is like fireworks exploding. This flower originated as a native fruit. Its scientific name is Syzygium jambos, it belongs to the botanic Myrtaceae family. Lakes and waterfalls Many groups of lakes and waterfalls adorn Loja’s paradise such as the group of compadre’s lakes, black lakes and jimbura’s lakes. The black lakes because are over volcanic rock. There are three lakes that are at 3390 meters above sea level, the biggest lake has a waterfall and it forms another lake. We can admire the wonderful vegetation, and it has a variety of orquideas (flowers) and we can fish. There are many groups of lakes and waterfalls. The lakes that are most visited are: La yaguré, black lake (Jimbura), la Marcola, Cochecorral. Pindal’s Natural Waterfalls are renowned and are a tourist attraction. Also, Chaguarpamba’s waterfalls (Ayaraguas),Macará, Coronel’s lake in Zapotillo, and others are famous. With those groups of waterfalls, we can see that paradises exist in Loja province. Bramadero’s waterfall Bramadero’s waterfall takes place in Paltas town in Loja Province. It is more beautiful in raining season because its flow increases so its beauty does. Opinions Picture one, pages 85 This photo is so interesting because it is a tree that has beautiful flowers that we will have to wait 15 years to admire. This tree gives us an important message is that “we have to be patient in order to admire the beauty of the life”. Picture two, page 85 The color of this flower is so wonderful. This color is between blue and purple, the form it is especial beauty. Picture one, page 86 This plant is like a group of soldiers because they are in a special position. We can see their beauty, in their petal. Picture two, page 86 I like this photo because it shows beautiful flowers, and those flowers are like fireworks. It gives us the wonderful message that we can find the beauty in simple things. Picture one, page 88 This waterfall is so exciting because it appears strong and free, we can learn something from this photo, that in life, in order to be free we have to be strong.
