SCI 4
Water comes from different
sources. It may come from open or
close sources. It may also come from
a small body of water or a big body
of water.
Sources of Water:
1. SEAWATER – It contains plenty of
salt. It is found on the seas and
oceans. Seawater is also called as
hard water.
• 2. FRESH WATER – is also called surface of
water. Unlike the seawater, it does not contain
salt. This is found in open and small bodies of
water like rivers, lakes, creeks, and ponds. Surface
water comes from the rain. Rainwater flows from
the land into streams and rivers. In cold countries
it also comes from snow.
3. Ground Water - is found beneath earth’s
surface . It comes from water that seeps from
into the ground. Groundwater is safe source of
water. It is considered the cleanest water and
contains plenty of dissolve minerals which the
human body needs. Other sources of ground
water are clouds iceberg, and glaciers. Clouds
come from evaporating water.
What is
Water?
Can we live without
Water?
Yes, absolutely, no one can
imagine the life without
water. A person can live w/o
food for 1 or 2 days but
water is very essential to
survive
Without enough water, the
kidneys used more energy and
wear on tissue. Our kidneys
need to function adequately to
flush our waste from our
blood. Eventually, our kidneys
will cease to function w/o
adequate water intake.
Around 60% of our body is
made up of water & we can
only live 3-5 days without
fluids.
How important is water in our
daily lives?
*Be mindful of running water.
Don't keep the faucet running
the entire time you're brushing
your teeth or washing your
hands. ...
How to conserve water at
home?
