2. COLOUR
I chose the colour purple as a leitmotif for Olivia Cox, as artists such as Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo
have done this and it creates a strong brand image.
I decided on a mid-toned purple as the main colour so that I could experiment with adding darker or lighter
tones in further visuals.
I also chose to work with blue and pink as they are complimentary colours to purple, and chose a blue to
purple gradient to use for my Instagram post backgrounds.

3. EMOJI/SYMBOL
Through my analysis, I noticed the artist Sabrina Carpenter often
uses heart symbolism as part of her brand aesthetic (costumes,
emojis, merch, etc…). I also decided to use the heart due to the
mise-en-scene of the heart installation in the video.
The heart is also a very feminine symbol, which is Olivia’s primary
gender demographic. As many of her songs are about love it also
works on this secondary level.
I chose this 💟 emoji as it is very distinct and in the purple colour,
and used drawn on hearts as backgrounds for the tour poster,
merchandise, and digipack CD.

4. FONT
1
2
3
I began by selecting a variety of fonts
I liked, and narrowed it down to the
second picture. I removed the bubble
fonts as the appeared childish, and
the very thin ones as they were too
serious. I also removed illegible or
too distinct ones (e.g. Art Nouveau).
For the third image, I chose the top
one as I liked the combination of the
serif and bubble elements. I also feel
it looks very trendy and young and
has a particular look.
5. CONFIRMATION + APPLICATION
I used my audience survey, linked in the blog post to confirm or alter the logo before I
applied it.
Since the majority liked the logo and felt it fit my target audience accurately I have applied it
to my three products.
