Locations

For our music video we will be using various locations. I will be covering choices of location and why
we’ve chosen these and I will be using Google maps and images for the location images.

Location 1
From the go we had a main location in mind which is a vintage stage that Charmaine has easy access
to. We’ll be using the stage for a large part of the music video as it will be where our main character
will create her ‘Perfect World’. As a group we just thought the stage would be a unique feature for the
video.

Location 2
This location is Charmaine’s house where will film some scenes of just our character.

Location 3
Another location we’ve chosen is Lendal Bridge in our city centre. There is easy access to the bridge as
there are plenty of surrounding bus stops. People are always walking across Lendal Bridge so it is an
ideal place to get shots of a busy location for fast paced montage style shots.
Location 4
Location number 4 is the Museum Gardens. It is easy to get to as there are plenty surrounding bus
stops, making travel a little more easy. Also it’s very near to one of our other locations – location 2
again making travel and access more easy. This location has a
forest/woodland area feel and look to it, which ties in with the Alice in
Wonderland inspiration: so parts of the fantasy world our main character
creates can be in a woodland/forest area with similar aspects to Alice In
Wonderland.
As well as this the location is also serene and generally quite peaceful and
has a forest like surrounding which can create a feeling of being in a fantasy
world. I used the location for my magazine we created in AS media studies.

Location 5
The fifth location is similar to location 4 but instead of having a forest/woodland feel to it, it’s an
actual wood. I live less than 5 minutes away from a wood (Acomb Wood) so we have quick and easy
access to it. To portray this we could show again a fast pace montage to create the feel of being in a
fantasy.
here are example of
screenshots from Google
maps and photos from
others that I found
online.
Alongside these, is an example of one of the photos I took in the same woods. The rest of which will
be shown in a later presentation.

We have also used another woodland/forest location…
Location 6 (third woodland/forest area)
This fifth location is very close to college and in walking distance. though not an actual wood or forest,
like location 3 this one also has that type of feeling and look.
From our college, we walk through the car park and end up here:
from here we turn right
and walk along the path
seen in the photo

and arrive here:

from here we make our
way across the field
towards a cycle path

We will be using this location for when our main character discovers a tunnel that leads her
outside
Location 7
Our sixth location is called Chapman’s pond and like the previous location is in walking distance from
college. We used this location as the place of her fantasy land especially for a scene where out main
character dangles her feet into the pond which is what she imagines when she sits on the edge of the
stage.

A later presentation will show behind the scenes images of this location.
