This document discusses using cloud computing and an "Urban Operating System" to improve quality of life in cities. The system would integrate various city systems - like energy, water, waste, manufacturing and more - onto a single unification and integration platform. It describes the key components of this system, including urban cloud appliances, place apps to manage resources at the building scale, and a high-level architecture with modeling, simulation and applications components. The goal is to use this cloud-based system to better manage city infrastructure and resources.
