Analysis Of The Book Hello Comrades
Hello comrades, this is a journal to document my story and the stories of my companions as we
fought for the freedom of all species who live in this world. The purpose of the journal is also to
provide information in regards to the locations of bases and strongholds. For those of you who
know me now, the beginning of my tale may be difficult to believe because I was a much
different person all those years ago. If you are a total stranger to myself and my cause, you will
learn the best ways of contacting the resistance and getting this to their leader if I am gone. All of
these events were witnessed by me and added to by others that were there with me. I will begin
my story on the day that my life changed forever, the day on which I nearly... Show more content on

Instead of going to my room, I entered the supply closet that opened out onto the main deck.
Now for those of you who know nothing of my past, it may come as a surprise to you that I was
very passive in my youth. I never acted first, I always reacted to my surroundings but it all
changed with The Paradise. As I stood behind that door fearing for my life, I came to the
conclusion that I could die that day, that everything I had ever known would end and I would be
forced into whatever came next. They re trying to board us Captain, what do we do? a crew
member near the door asked. Before the captain responded, a voice carried clearly from the other
ship. We are the King s men, prepare to be boarded, someone from the privateer said. At this I
naively believed that we were all safe. I should have known better but I blame my upbringing
that I was not able to anticipate what would happen next. I felt a dull thud reverberate along the
wooden floor of the door frame. The four men that came aboard first were all armed with
crossbows slung across their backs and swords at their belts. They were followed by a man in
armor who had only a sword. The man who appeared to be the captain of the other vessel
approached the center of the ship as his men spread out, gathering all members of the crew near the

Why Is Irrigation Important In Arizona
Irrigation has changed Arizona a lot economically wise and land wise, irrigation is an important
factor to Yuma. It brought people here for jobs and that lead to Yuma making more houses which
brought up the economy and had more land to plant agricultural crops like vegetables and fruits,
irrigation basically improved Arizona. Irrigationis a successful project, the Yuma project helped
field workers and help year round farming conditions like the dry soil/ dry land it gave people
more jobs to provide for themselves and their families irrigation had a big impact on Arizona and
people that needed jobs Yuma used the land for houses, cities, livestock and made fields for
farming. It affects both the local area and state because the overall economic... Show more content

People who have farms like a family business would lose their business they would not be able to
afford it anymore. If Arizona did not have irrigation so many people would be out of a job and
the economy would go down, Arizona is one of the top water users in the united states, Yuma is
also the main state for farming, Yuma uses the underground passageways to irrigate about fifty
thousand acres to farms in the Yuma, Arizona and one hundred fifteen thousand acres in total they
used for houses, cities, livestock, and some has remained unused. Arizona is the nation s second
leading producer of lettuce, cauliflower, melons, and lemons. Population has increased because
Arizona made more houses, field workers come out here and buy houses so they can work and the
companies made more houses, Arizona created more farms so they can grow more agricultural
crops it also brought more people here to work they bought off some companies and they made

The Election Swept Away Years Of Liberal Government
The 1997 general election swept away eighteen years of Conservative government, replacing it
with a Labour majority government with a majority of 179; their largest majority ever,
surpassing even the 145 seat majority won by the party in 1945. Under the Labour landslide,
several prominent Tory MPs and frontbenchers were defeated by Labour, Liberal Democrat and
Scottish National candidates, such as Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind, Scottish Secretary
Michael Forsyth, Trade Secretary Ian Lang, former Health Secretary Edwina Currie, former
Chancellor of the Exchequer Norman Lamont, former Minister for Fun (National Heritage) David
Mellor, and scandal embroiled former Minister Neil Hamilton (who was defeated by the Labour

After the polls had closed at ten o clock, but before the result was formally announced, Portillo
was interviewed live by Jeremy Paxman on the BBC s election programme. By that stage,
Portillo was aware of the result in his seat. Portillo was seen to struggle answering Paxman s first
question, So Michael, are you going to miss the limo? or the follow up, Are we seeing the end of
the Conservative Party as a credible force in British politics? . [1]
The other candidates knew the result as they walked up onto the stage of the Picketts Lock
Leisure Centre in Enfield. Portillo, to a large amount of muttering had won 19,137; this gained an
applause from some Conservative supporters who assumed that Portillo had won. After a minor
party candidate s result had been declared the returning officer began to announce Twigg s vote
total. There was a loud and prolonged cheer when Twigg s result of 20,570 was announced.
Portillo, to his credit gave a magnanimous concession speech. Portillo later stated that he was
determined to lose with as much dignity as possible, after having watched the scenes in Putney
where David Mellor had attacked Referendum Party founder and leader Sir James Goldsmith.
The episode led to the phrase Portillo Moment, entering into the political lexicon. Many viewers
and pundits asked Were you still up for Portillo, asking whether someone had stayed up until after

Alternative Fueled Vehicles
Alternative Fueled Vehicles Earth is perishing. Every living thing in the ecosystem plays a part in
preservation of nature. Even if one of these species neglect their responsibilities the whole system
shuts down; thus, every creature is connected and cannot be seperated from each other. Despite all
this, human race see itself as the king of the jungle. They are greedy, careless and ignorant. Because
of humans oceans are getting filthy, recourses are diminishing, and the air is becoming intoxicating.
Although earth is becoming a living hell, it is t too late to save it; with logical and creative
solutions earth might survive. One of the most promising solutions in order to save earth is perhaps
using alternative fueled cars. Even though... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, there are more to the issues with batteries; most batteries are relatively expansive.
According to cleantechnica.com the prices vary from 2,000 US Dollars to 3,000; thus,
customers have to keep in mind that they might need to replace their batteries once or twice, so
it requires at least 5,000 dollars of investment. In addition, most batteries are very large and
heavy which is a disadvantage for the aggressiveness of the car since it slows it down. This
might not be a big issue for some people; however, there are performance enthusiasts who seek
pace in their vehicles; perhaps all electric vehicles aren t the best option for them. As a
conclusion, all electric vehicles are designed perfectly to give at least damage as possible to nature
unless the electricity required to run the vehicles is produced by non eco friendly power plants, but
there are plent of power plants that use sun, wind, water and nuclear energy in order to get
electricity, and their numbers are constantly rising throughout the world. The only downside of all
electric vehicles is certainly the battery; whereas, most people are optimistic about this issue as
fueleconomy.gow states, However, researchers are working on improved battery technologies to
increase driving range and decrease recharging time, weight, and cost. These factors will ultimately
determine the future of EVs. Another promising

Criminal Behavior In Children
The ability to attempt to make a better and safer society can begin by being able to determine
criminal behavior in children based on personal characteristics, demographic factors, generational
factors, and/or abuse problems. The use of a neural network could be used in an effort to make
these predictions with science and technology. A neural network is a type of artificial intelligence
system used to make predictions based on a wide variety of information and patterns (Haag, S.,
Cummings, M. 2013). The ability to be able to predict potential criminal behavior in children can
possibly be thwarted with education and behavioral adjustments. Criminal behavior can be detected
in children as young as 6 (Lowry, 2013). Parole boards use... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One of the main factors for criminal activity based on demographics is race, age, and sex. There
have been studies linking young males who are members of disadvantaged minorities are at
higher risks of criminal activity (South Messner, 2000). In poor neighborhoods children are more
likely to become involved with gangs in order to belong and have a purpose. Poverty is reality for
approximately 16 million children in the United States and these communities are subject to higher
crime rates (Kearney Harris, 2016). Technology has introduced using artificial intelligence to
help predict criminal behavior in people based on algorithms. This technology would be a type
of neural network to gather data from children and parents to try to predict criminal behavior
before a child turns 18. Richard Berk, from the University of Pennsylvania, is currently working
on a system to teach computers to identify patterns to make predictions (McGorrery Gilmore,
2016). Between January 2007 and October 2011, Richard Berk and Susan B. Sorenson, a
professor of social policy in Penn s School of Social Policy Practice, obtained data from 28,000
domestic violence arraignments to teach the computer the type of people most likely to reoffend.
Berk said, In all kinds of settings, having the computer figure this out is better than having us figure
it out, (Berger, 2016). Berk stated there are fewer flaws using the algorithms compared to current

The Treatment Of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
The family will typically sacrifice their own needs to take care of the veteran who has returned.
When a family member begins to place the veteran s health, welfare and needs before their own,
they can lose contact with their own needs, desires, and sense of self: becoming co dependent
(Mental Health America). The family has good intentions by taking care of the veteran who is
experiencing difficulty, but the caretaking becomes compulsive and defeating. Co dependents often
take on a martyr s role. The problem is that these repeated rescue attempts allow the needy
individual to continue on a destructive course and to become even more dependent on the
unhealthy caretaking of the family. As this reliance increases, the co dependent... Show more

Group interventions for trauma related psychoeducation and social support may also provide a
benefit (Defense Centers of Excellence, 2015). The first line of treatment for PTSD should include
an evidence based psychotherapy (i.e., talk therapy) and/or psychopharmacology (the study of drug
induced changes in mood, thinking, and behavior). The psychotherapies with the most evidence
typically include one or more of several productive therapeutic approaches including exposure to
traumatic memories, stimuli or situations; cognitive restructuring of trauma related beliefs; and
stress reduction techniques. The table below summarizes effective PTSD psychotherapy
approaches detailed in Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense (VA/DoD)

The Day Rosa Parks Theme
The theme in All Summer in a Day and The Day Rosa Parks was arrested are similar. The theme
that they share is Stand up for what you believe in. In both the story, and the drama there is that
one person that does not want to be treated the that other people are treating them. It s just like in
All Summer in a Day the girl, Margot believed that the sun was going to come up, but everyone
else didn t believe her, so they made fun of her because of what she believed in. In The Day Rosa
Parks was Arrested a white man told Rosa Parks to get up so he could sit down. She didn t get up.
He told her to get up again, or he will get the police officer, she didn t get up. Even when the officer

You can also learn something from them. In conclusion, if you say something, but someone else
say s different, then don t worry about what they say believe in what you say, and just stand up
for what you believe in. What you believe in, and what the other person believes in may both be
correct. You will never know, but just always stand up for what you believe in. Rosa Parks didn
t want to be treated the way she was being treated, so she stood up for herself, and everyone of
the colored people. Margot did not want to be treated the way she was being treated, just
because she was different. So what she did was stood up for herself, and believed in herself.
Rosa Parks, and Margot didn t care what anyone else thought of what they were doing. They just
believed in themselves, and stood up for what they believed in. The authors Lauren Tarshis, and

The Accomplishments Of Sir Isaac Newton
Sir Isaac Newton has been repeatedly portrayed since the last quarter of his life as practically
peerless as a natural philosopher. Newton s achievements were unquestionably useful, diverse and
exceptionally inspired (although not all of his work has endured or has been considered valuable1).
Fara recounts contemporary, repeated declarations of his seemingly unbelievable genius from elite
figures such as X and Voltaire2. This theme has continued in popular culture, mostly unchallenged,
to the present day. FIND NEWTONIAN MOMENT. Even within academic accounts, praise is still
unusually superlative. For example, Westfall has called the Principalia Mathematica (1686) the
culmination of the scientific revolution.3 Principalia was merely the crowning achievement in an
outstanding career in natural philosophy that eventually helped to enhance emerging intellectual
fields, from chemistry to calculus to astronomy. Just as important to his posthumous reputation was
Newton s eccentric personality. His frequently otherworldly, reclusive habits, stoicism, piety, and
reluctance to share his ideas publicly4 seemed to compliment his near Promethean talents for novel
reckoning. His supposed tendencies towards gentle, almost playful absorption in intellectual
thought and supposed casual disinterest in personal matters (i.e. love, sex, or lasting friendship)
were firmly enshrined by his early biographers Conduitt5 and Stuckey6. Leading on from this, there
has also been a recurring

The Brain Is The Most Important Components Of The Human Brain
The brain is the greatest, the most fascinating and the most complex organ of the human been.
According to Dr. Wolfe, the human brain weighs about three pound. Humans do not feel its weight
because it is full of fluids and it is floating. The human brain consumes ten times more oxygen of all
the humans body parts and 25% of the total energy produced by the body. It is not the largest part
of the humans body, but it is one of the most important parts. Through the years educators were like
doctors giving certain treatment to their patients without being sure what the disease was. If the
first treatment given did not work they gave another treatment and so on. Nowadays technology has
help to study how animals and humans brainworks. It also has helped to discover how and where
information is manipulated within the brain during the learning process. To discover how the brain
works, the brain was divided in many parts. According to the book, the brain structures are
cerebellum, brain stem, temporal lobe, broca s area, frontal lobe, motor cortex, sensory cortex,
parietal lobe, wernicke s area, occipital lobe, hypothalamus and pituitary gland (Bohlin, Durwin,
Reese Weber, 2012). The major lobes of the brain are frontal, occipital, parental and temporal and
each of them has different functions during the learning process. Frontal lobe is responsible for
higher standard thinking. According to the book, during the learning process, frontal lobe controls
attention, creative

The Task Of The Translator By Walter Benjamin
Walter Benjamin s essay, The Task of the Translator, is illuminating in the way in which it shatters
any preconceived ideas that may view the act of translation as diminishing the value of the original.
Benjamin has high regard for translation, placing it in the realm of art as a distinct form. He argues
that art is not about the audience or the receiver that is, it is not primarily about communication.
The purpose of art is not to instil a specific belief, impart information or to entertain certain
sentiments in the reader thus, appreciation does not reside in generating a moral by interpreting its
content. As an art form, translationfor Benjamin is not about propagating ideas or beliefs but is
about embarking on the task of attaining pure... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, translation cannot be considered to interact with the reader, seeking to communicate the
meaning of the original text as the content is not essential in our appreciation of the text. His
question assumes the original and the translation as distinct categories, both of which, for him, are
works of art. Apart from carrying messages and prolonging the value of texts, what is unique to
translation is its potential to express the central reciprocal relationship between languages (72), its
kinship to another language and its potential to bring out the pure language where the mutually
exclusive elements among languages can mingle and supplement one another (74) and where
complementary intentions between two languages can be communicated. Therefore, the translator
should not be restrained by the burden of relaying what the original means. Benjamin claims that
languages are not strangers to one another, but are, a priori and apart from all historical
relationships, interrelated in what they want to express (72). The affinity between languages can
best be brought out by an accurate transmission of the form and meaning of the original

Analysis Of The Inconvenient Indian By Thomas King
Thomas King s The Inconvenient Indian tells the story of Indigenous people in Canada and the
United States, it challenges the narrative on how Indigenous history is taught and explains why
Indigenous people continue to feel frustrated. King s seeks to educate the reader as he provides a
detailed accounts of the horrific massacres Indigenous people endured, yet he simultaneously
inserts humorous moments which balances out the depressing content and enhances his story. The

Live Indians were seen as problematic because they refused to die out and they were not wanted in
society (61). Canada and the US categorized Indigenous people creating a complex paternalistic
system because Indigenous people were seen as inferior. The American and Canadian governments
sought to control Indigenous people without any regard for their human dignity, nor did they
acknowledge the different tribes, languages or customs and instead set about creating a single
entity that would stand for the whole group (82). Instead of treating each group differently, the one
size fits all approach was taken because it required less work on the governments part and
reinforced the message that Natives were not important enough for individual recognition. King
shows the assimilation and elimination that Indigenous people endured and how the governments
decided that they had to either butcher or civilize the Indians quickly (108). A major assimilation
policy were residential schools which targeted children so their culture would die out by the next
generation. King compares colonialism to malaria stating that it can lie dormant for many years
and then flare up again which is what happened in in the US in 1887 with the General Allotment
Act (128). Washington attempted yet again to increase assimilation, the policy broke up reserves
and enforced US citizenship on Indigenous people. Meanwhile Canada had the White Paper of 1969

Misconceptions About Wolves
Many have heard of the famous fairytale, Little Red Riding Hood, in which wolves are portrayed
as evil beings, that have no intention of affection for humans but instead, the instant thought of
hunger, of devouring the individual whole. This story makes one wonder whether wolves are
lovely or evil creatures. In Idaho, West America, a lengthy debate is currently being battled out
about the gray wolves which now remain in small numbers, reported as 1600. These wolves
according to some groups need to be secured, with other opinions that suggest otherwise. Some
stakeholders who are situated in the same location and are in favour of the wolves, include the Nez

When one thing disappears, everything else also falls apart which can be applied to the
situation of wolves. If wolves were to become extinct, the direction to which they are heading,
the ecosystem will appear to be unbalanced. Nonetheless, the life of wolves should be seen as a
priority. There s no doubt that the wolf comes first because you can t just sacrifice a species of
life because it s comfortable for your civilization or it s comfortable for your frame of mind. Ron
Gillette refers to the gray wolves as Canadian wolves, They re an exotic species. They do not

unhappy about them calling America their habitat. Whenever he steps a foot out of his house, a

Analysis Of Anton Chekhov s The Lottery Ticket
I Stand Here Ironing vs. The Lottery Ticket In Anton Chekhov s The Lottery Ticket , we are
presented with a couple who, half believing they have won the lottery, give themselves over to
daydreaming what the future may hold with their winnings. The point of view is that of the
husband though it is clear, throughout, that his thoughts find their echo in his wifes. At first his
thoughts are pleasant but then, as he takes into account the differences, (some of them supposed),
between himself and his wife, knowing the winnings would be his wife s and not his own, he sees
trouble ahead, and becomes resentful of her. Only then does he check the final number to find that
they have not won after all, at which point the reality of their relatively impoverished situation
takes hold and life, once again, appears gloomy and mundane. In Tillie Olsen s I Stand Here Ironing
, a mother meditates upon the history of her now troubled teenage daughter, a daughter she feels
she can do little to help. Her daughter s temperament clearly arises from a troubled childhood.
Abandoned by her father, with competition from other siblings, raised in an impoverished
environment, there is little wonder as we read Olsen s description that the daughter should have
turned into a troubled young woman. Her mother in her meditations, however, has clearly felt
hopeless throughout. She feels she can do nothing for her daughter now as she has been able to do
little for her in the past. She ends her

Aircraft Carriers Nimitz Class Most Navy ships have a name and a designator to identify the
specific naval vessel. In the case of CVN 68 77, the ships being identified are the 68th through

propulsion system (N). These carriers are considered Nimitz Class, and this designation was
unknown prior to 1975. These carriers are considered Nimitz class because the lead ship of the
class CVN 68 is named after Chester W. Nimitz, the U.S. Navy s last fleet admiral (Polmar 88).

To start off, there are three main weapons systems aboard the Nimitz carriers. Most important are
the NATO Sea Sparrows, a surface to air missile system. This radar guided weapon is short range
and uses a homing system to readjust its path mid flight. Although the range and speed are
classified, it is known that the missile is 12 feet long and has a cylindrical body with four mid
body wings and tail fins. This system is mainly used for self defense against a variety of surface
and air threats. Next, are the RIM 116 Rolling Airframe Missiles, designed to destroy anti ship
cruise missiles and other various air or surface threats. These missiles are lightweight and have a
quick reaction, all the while traveling at supersonic speed. Finally, CVNs carry the Phalanx
CIWS. This, too, is radar guided, fast paced, and protects against anti ship missiles. It can fire
3000 4500 rounds per minute and can fire at small or close targets due to its Electro Optic sensor

Michael Jordan s Accomplishments And Career
Why are we so fascinated with Michael Jordan and his accomplishments and career? What is it
that Michael Jordan is trying to tell us in his short, but amazing, commercial? Most of America
idolize this individual, Michael Jordan. We ask ourselves, how has one individual accomplished so
much and come so far from pretty much nothing. In this short Maybe video we find a lot of our
questions have been answered.
While watching this video, for the first time, I was blown away with all that he states. His main
message to me was we must work hard every single day of our lives, if we want to have great and
extraordinary success. Don t make up excuses, just have the strength to become what you want to
be. Succeed in life because you want to succeed, not because others want or expect you to. We
need to know that with hard work and dedication comes great success. We live in a world that we
blame others for our failures and short comings. We are each in control of our own destiny, no one
can change that. Michael Jordan worked hard daily, not once a week or once a month, daily. He

Thomas Kuhn s Theory Of Scientific Discovery
The reason someone writes is in order to try and get a message or an idea across. For some topics
its easier than others, but when you re trying and prove the whole idea of discovery wrong it may
be more difficult. Thomas Kuhn writes Historical Structure of Scientific Discovery in an attempt to
try and convey his message that the timeline role of discoveryis wrong. He denies the idea about
how some discoveries are misleading and make it seem they were found in a single moment.
When you write you must assume that anyone can read it, so you have to keep your audience in
mind. Different articles of science will bring in all kinds of readers. Not only was he writing to
historians and scientists, but to the general public, so he needed to structurehis writing to appeal his
audience. Kuhn starts his project by letting readers know his purpose, he denies the idea of how
an individual made a discovery at any moment. He opens up the reading to show what he finds
wrong, so the readercan begin to paint a picture in their head. He gives his opinion on discovery
and writes what he believes to be true. He makes an attempt to put the reader in his place and see
things from his input. When a writer is able to put a reader in their shoes it becomes easier to
perused them. What s different about Kuhn s writing is the way he structures it. He breaks up
topics into different subcategories each having a subtitle. He lists off examples of discoveries that
help to prove his point such as:

Increasing an Organizations High Performance Production
In recent years the number of organizations is rising, consequently the competition between them is
increasing. In order to remain competitive ability, organizations should provide high performance in
production. For identifying what leads to high productivity, the key elements of organization
should be analyzed. It s obviously that the core of any organization is human element. There is not
product without employee, and consequently there is not organization without workforce. Human
naturally has aim in doing any action. People study for working, and then they work for earning
and try to find their places in society. Though they seem always have aim and toward which they
go forward. However, some people can t decide what they want, and refuse doing attempts to
change anything in their boring life. The same situation may occur in workplace. Furthermore,
workers doing the same work every day, they often feel dull and bore from their work, as a result
productivity starts decreasing. Therefore the organization s leadershipand managementhave been
searching out various effective methods which lead workforce to high level of performance for
many years. Researches and studies determined that employee should be motivated and engaged,
furthermore it was determined that it is responsibility of organization s leadership and management
to engage and motivate workforce. Consequently, now the main job of leaders and managers are to
motivate employee. (Gordon, 2010) The aim of this

Discuss how class conflict is represented in A Streetcar...
Class conflict is represented throughout the play, A Streetcar Named Desire in various ways
through characters, symbols, ideas and language. Characters such as Blanche, Stella, Mitch and
Stanley are used throughout the text to represent the upper and lower classes, as well as the
conflict between the two classes. Symbols, ideas and language help to define the different classes
as well as helping to represent the conflict between classes. The language (dialogue) of the
characters, symbolic use of names, animal imagery and colour (clothes) and the ideas of cultural
capital help to define what the lower and upper classes are.

In contrast the name Stanley offers no specific meaning in relation to meaning in the play.
Secondly the name Dubois sounds aristocratic, with a possible proud heritage, whereas the name
Kowalski sounds more modern. A Dubois speaks softly and flittingly, as the name is pronounced,
whereas a Kowalski speaks loudly and brutally as the name is said. Kowalski s enjoy loud, rowdy
poker parties, whilst Dubois s wince and prefer teas, cocktail parties and luncheons. The names of
these two characters help in constructing the conflict between the two classes. The dialogue of
Blanche and Stanley and the symbolic use of names help to construct class conflict in the play, A
Streetcar Named Desire.
Stella represents the old south being converted by the new south. Blanche fights for Stella to
come back and be part of the old south again, accusing Stella of being blinded by desire for
Stanley ( What you are talking about is brutal desire just Desire! Scene Four, Blanche). Elysian

Clay Street Hill Railroad History
The first successful cable operated street railway was the Clay Street Hill Railroad, which
opened on August 2, 1873. The promoter of the line was Andrew Smith Hallidie, and the
engineer was William Eppelsheimer. The line involved the use of grip cars, which carried the
grip that engaged with the cable, towing trailer cars; the design was the first to use grips. The
term grip became synonymous with the operator. The line started regular service on September 1,
1873, and its success led it to become the template for other cable car transit systems. It was a
financial success, and Hallidie s patents were enforced on other cable car promoters, making him
wealthy. The next cable car line to open was the Sutter Street Railway, which converted... Show

Failures Of The Weimar Republic
In its beginnings, the Weimar Republic was one of the most progressive nations in all of Europe.
With 42% of its electorate voting for either the Social Democrats or Communists in 1928, and
with a population both embracing homosexuality and redefining gender roles, Adolf Hitler and
the Nazi party were somehow able to take power in the democratic system. Though Hitler s rise to
power certainly was not peaceful, it did not solely rely on violence. To the detriment of the
minority, indifference of the majority was all that was needed to carry out many plans. Citizens of
the Weimar Republicwere not initially ready to allow a dictatorship that would produce the horrors
of Hitler s regime; instead, Paul von Hindenburg, the Catholic Center Party, and ultimately, the
once progressive German public all overlooked the atrocities of the Nazi Party due to the
deceptions of Adolf Hitler, the creation of common enemies, and the systematic pacification of the
German people.
Adolf Hitler s appointment to the chancellor is attributed to the Great Depression of 1929, the rise
of the Nazi Party, and an underestimation of Hitler by the Conservative Party. The devastating
effects of the worldwide depression caused the conservative President Paul von Hindenburg to enact
Article 48 of the Weimar constitution due to an emergency state, which essentially allowed the
president to appoint a chancellor without the approval of the Reichstag. Hindenburg appointed

Abstract
For this project, I will be conducting multiple experiments regarding the chirality of different forms
of ibuprofen. The question I m trying to solve is whether or not common brands of ibuprofen have
the same formulation. In order to perform this exercise, I will need to create a homemade
polarimeter in order to measure the angle at which the brands of ibuprofen will reflect light,
resulting in finding out if the chosen brands have a varied rotation of light. I believe that the
different brands will reflect at different angles based off of its chirality. After performing the tests,
the results I have gathered led me to believe that my hypothesis was proven to be wrong. The
Motrin, Advil, and Equate seemed to all get bright in the same areas. The only difference was that
the Motrin was the brightest one out of them all.

The History of Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt Essay
The History of Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt
Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt are both cradles of civilization. Both contributed greatly to human
development through their achievements, failures, peoples, scientific accomplishments,
philosophies, religions, and contributions.
Mesopotamia is a rich flat plain created by deposits from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. At the
southern end of this plain developed the first recognizable civilization, in the area known as
Sumer. In 3000 B.C. Sumer contained a dozen or more city states, each ruled by its own king and
worshiped its own patron deity. The citizens of these city states were classified into three classes:
nobles and priests, commoners, and slaves. In the center of a ... Show more content on

The ruler of this dynasty was Ur Nammu. He was the first ruler to establish law codes and spell out
regulations and penalties.
Another great ruler was King Hammurabi of Babylon. He set up the Code of Hammurabi, which
includes 300 sections of carefully organized codes that ruled the Babylonians. Hammurabi was
the first example of a lawgiver. He provided one of the greatest written documents of his time: a
stone column with a long series of legal judgments published with his name. Hammurabi even
designed codes for the family life. He took care of the women and children in his society. He
regulated marriage with care to secure a stable life for future generations. He combined both law
and religious belief to create an ordered society. The Mesopotamians built on foundations laid by
the Sumerians using their sexagesimal system. They had multiplication tables, exponents, tables for
computing interest, and textbooks with problems for solution. They also developed systems of
astrology and astronomy, and even created a lunar calendar.
The early cities of Mesopotamia fell from one warlord to another, and were constantly changing,
unlike the kingdoms of Ancient Egypt that kept its stability. The Egyptians lived along the Nile
River, which probably made it easier to govern the people. The King was the owner and ruler of all
Egypt and was considered a god by the people. The economy was a royal monopoly, the peoples
duties was to serve the King. In the old Kingdom

warming was likely due to the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations. Chemistry and Industry
magazine citing the preliminary report stated, atmospheric carbon dioxide has increased 31% since
1750, and atmospheric methane by 151% ( IPCC Says Global...Own Fault 66). From agreement to
confusion:
Scientists do not argue that increases in greenhouse gas concentration have some relationship to
higher average temperatures. The consequences of further global warming are hotly contested still
and stir widespread debate and disagreement. In fact, arguments over the existence of a natural
cycle of climate change and climate change induced by human activity are considerably prevalent.
Arguments for both beneficial and detrimental consequences of further global warming are wide
ranging. Because the plethora of arguments contributes heavily to the paralyzation of the
international community it is prudent to survey some of the arguments. In June 1999, Friederike

Clothing In Eastern Christianity
When referring to clerical wear, it crosses over a very large spectrum, even in the year 1980s.
Clerical wear, also known as nun, priest or ministers wear is non liturgical clothing. This type of
clothing is typically worn as everyday clothing for the clergy. It is known to be their label or a
form of identification. Different religions have different ways of dressing themselves to show who
they are. In Eastern Christianity, clerical wear is considered everyday clothing, which has to be
worn in public at all times. It does not have to be blessed like the vesting, but it is a daily
garment. The garments may consist of a clerical collar, clergy shirt, cassock, skufia, kamilavka,
apostolnik, epanokamelavkion, and klobuk. Some are more commonly known to be worn in the
Russian tradition. The cassock, is the floor length garment that is usually black and worn by all
of the clergy. The skufia and kamilavka are hats that can be awarded as a sign of honor to the
clergy. The apostolnik is worn only by the nuns with or without one of the caps. The

Master Data Information Essay
INTRODUCTION
Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) is one of the integral production control techniques used in
Enterprise resource planning(ERP). It calculates the net requirements for materials based on its
dependence on other materials and develop procurement proposals which are often in the form of
purchase requisitions and planned orders. The MRP creates planned orders for all finished and
semi finished products and aims to make sure that the company has sufficient availability of material
to meet its requirements. In ERP, the Master Data is a key factor in the successful implementation
of the production process. It sorts and stores data automatically, based on their functions and

Before the production process commences, we have to take inventory of our available stock to
determine whether the company needs to make procurement of materials or not. This is achieved by
performing a net requirements calculation. The net requirements calculation considers all the
critical elements of the MRP to identify whether there is a shortage of material that would require
procurement. If a procurement proposal is needed, the system is able to determine the amount of
material needed by using the Lot size function. Our lot size in the production of the Aluminum
Door DR are HB (Replenishment to maximum stock level) and FX (Fixed order quantity) for our
Raw material and semi finished products respectively, as highlighted in the screen shots below.

He completed a Fine Arts degree at the Queensland College of Art, and was one of the first
Aboriginal artists to become successful in a predominantly white profession. He refused to let
his race define his success and often denied to be recognised as an exceptional artist simply
because of his Aboriginality, even to the point where he rejected offers to display his work in
Aboriginal exhibitions. He spoke of his wishes to avoid banal containment as a professional

Concepts Of Statistical Studies Essay
Basic Concepts of Statistical Studies
1
Introduction s Decision makers make better decisions when they use all available information in an
effective and meaningful way. The primary role of statistics is to to provide decision makers with
methods for obtaining and analyzing information to help make these decisions. Statistics is used to
answer long range planning questions, such as when and where to locate facilities to handle future
sales.
2
Definition s Statistics is defined as the
science of collecting, organizing, presenting, analyzing and interpreting numerical data for the
purpose of assisting in making a more effective decision.

Alternatively, a numeric code could be used for the class standing variable (e.g. 1 denotes
Freshman, 2 denotes Juniors and so on).
16
Scales of Measurement s Interval
The data have the properties of ordinal data, and the interval between observations is expressed in
terms of a fixed unit of measure. Interval data are always numeric.
17
Scales of Measurement s Interval
Example: Shruti has an MAT score of 605, while Raj has an MAT score of 655. Raj scored 50
points more than Shruti.
18
Scales of Measurement s Ratio
The data have all the properties of interval data and the ratio of two values is meaningful. Variables
such as distance, height, weight, and time use the ratio scale. This scale must contain a zero value
that indicates that nothing exists for the variable at the zero point.
19
Scales of Measurement s Ratio
Example: Raj s college record shows 36 credit hours earned, while Kevin s record shows 72 credit
hours earned. Kevin has twice as many credit hours earned as Raj s.
20
Qualitative and Quantitative Data
Data can be further classified as being qualitative or quantitative. The statistical analysis that is
appropriate depends on whether the data for the variable are qualitative or quantitative. In general,
there are more alternatives for statistical analysis when the data are quantitative.

The Importance Of Physical Similarity
An old saying states that birds of a feather flock together. It can be quite comforting to meet
someone who is similar to yourself. Like minded individuals not only validate our beliefs about
the world, but also reduce the risk of conflicts and disagreements (Barelds Barelds Dijkstra,
2007, p. 479). In fact, research has shown that people are more likely to be in relationships with
others who are similar to themselves in terms of attitudes, values, social group memberships,
and physical appearances than with dissimilar others (Mackinnon, Jordan, Wilson, 2011, p. 879).
Physical Similarity A study conducted by Mackinnon, Jordan, Wilson (2011) examined how
seating preferences are affected by physical similarity in strangers. The researchers proposed
that people would sit closer to physically similar others even when those physical similarities are
unrelated to important markers of social status, such as sex and race. The study states that
without the opportunity to interact facilitated by physical proximity, a relationship is less likely
to form (Mackinnon, Jordan, Wilson, 2011, p. 879). Across 4 studies, it was found that people
tend to sit closer to physically similar others than physically dissimilar others. Study 1 revealed
significant aggregation in seating patterns on two easily observed characteristics: glasses
wearing and sex. Seating arrangements at a Canadian university on campus computer lab with
31 seats was observed on 21 (non overlapping) occasions over 3 months. Using a seating diagram,
the researcher recorded whether a person occupied each seat. In total, 356 individuals were
observed; 23% were wearing glasses (N = 82) and 57.6% were women (N = 205). This shows
that, as predicted, glasses wearers sat by other glasses wearers (and non glasses wearers by other
non glasses wearers) more frequently than expected by chance alone. Study 2 replicated this
finding with a wider variety of physical traits: race, sex, glasses wearing, hair length, and hair
color. In the second study, 18 university classes (freshman and sophomore level) were observed.
Three large classrooms at a Canadian university were chosen, and professors who taught courses in
those classrooms were emailed for permission to

Bear, My People, the Sioux (Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1929). It did not occur to me at the time
that I was going away to learn the ways of the white man. My idea was that I was leaving the
reservation and going to stay away long enough to do some brave deed, and then come home
again alive. If I could just do that, then I knew my father would be so proud of me. 1. What does

Hadley and I with a Cheyenne Indian, White Dog, have just returned to camp from a five days
scout through the bad lands, during which we camped beside our horses whenever night
overtook us, and we got an old bull buffalo day before yesterday. There were only two buffalo in
that land (!), and we got the largest and finest one. Since seeing the buffalo on this native heath I
am more than ever impressed with our wants in the way of good mountable skins of fine
specimens, and still more of the

Kant s Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysics of Moral
Kant s Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysics of Moral
The central concept of Kant s Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysics of
Morals is the categorical imperative. The conception of an objective principle, in so far as it is
obligatory for a will, is called a command (of reason), and the formula of the command is called an
Imperative. (Abbott, 30) An imperative is something that a will ought or shall do because the will
is obligated to act in the manner in which it conforms with moral law. The categorical imperative is
an obligation by the will to act so that the action can be classified as a universal law. When one
acts in conformity with the universal law at all times, they are following out the categorical ... Show

The action of killing oneself would cause pain, which is not in conformity to the maxim stated to
avoid pain. The second example Kant gives is based on the basic premise of lying. A man is
forced to borrow money which he knows he will never be able to repay but he promises to do so
anyway. This action is not consistent with duty and the maxim could be expressed as: When I [the
man] think myself in want of money, I will borrow money and promise to repay it, although I know
that
I never can do so. (Abbott, 39) The maxim cannot hold as a universal law because if everyone
lied about promises, the promise itself would become impossible, and the end would be
unattainable. Telling the truth is an end in itself. The third example is of a man who it bestowed
a natural ability but does not use it to it s full extent. Kant sees this as not a categorical
imperative because a rational being necessarily wills that he develop his skills for many possible
reasons. Rational beings are an end in themselves, and if you do not better yourself, you are not
serving yourself.(Abbott, 40) Lastly, the fourth man, in great prosperity, has a chance to help
others in need and does not. This can be viewed as a workable universal law, but it cannot be willed
as the good thing to do

Ipv4 vs Ipv6
The IPv4 came before the IPv6 and these datagrams are similar in many ways but also differ in
more ways than one. IPv6 came out in the year 2004 and still uses many of the features that
made IPv4 so successful. IPv6 is supposed to become the new standard over the older version of
IPv6, but it is tough for v6 to take its spot when v6 cannot support everything v4 does, basically v6
cannot connect to a v4 system. Some differences are that it is stated that the IPv6is more secure than
the IPv4, the address size went from 32 bits in the IPv4 to 128 bits in the IPv6, extensible protocols
are more flexible in the IPv6, IPv4 and IPv6 are not compatible, the IPv4 will not be able to
support additional nodes or support for applications, and the... Show more content on

The reason why the address is longer in v6 is because it can support over 340 undecillion IP
addresses. Mainly because the IPv6 has potential to have problems just like the IPv4 address
problems. Also, the IPv6 has been broken down into geographical locations, meaning that the
address can be tracked to a specific location in the world. The downfall in this part, in my
opinion, in a hacker s point of view, is that you can breakdown a specific location where you
would want to attack, if you know the geographic location of the hexadecimal in the address.
What I mean is that you can know the country code in the IPv6 address and focus your attack in
that specific location. Having a random order of the v6 address would make it more reliable and
more secure but also would allow disorder, not knowing where specific address might be located.
IPv6 is more flexible in using protocols which, are mainly defined as the Request for Comment
(RFC) that we discussed in the discussions. Protocols are defined in the RFC, but the name of the
protocol will be something like Internet Protocol, Internet Control Message Protocol, Telnet
Protocol, and many more. The reason why these Protocols are more flexible in the IPv6 is for one,
the IPv6 is a newer technology than the IPv4, and the IPv6 also has more functionality and allows
more flexibility in the protocols, whereas the

Federalism In Montana
Our United States Constitution used federalism to divide the powers to govern. Federalism was
established in the constitution supremacy clause, providing that each state in the U.S. is a
sovereign entity and has the power to create and ratify laws according to the needs of the state and
make public policy. All states have different characteristics such as demographics of its citizens,
geography, natural resources, and different types of businesses and industries. Federalismenables the
courts and legislatures in a state to act on the needs and public policy. There are advantages and
disadvantages to this form of government. The apparent advantage is the authority granted to
legislatures and policy makers to address the needs of the state because... Show more content on

Sahlberg s philosophy and approach to education has had unbelievable success. I will introduce
Sahlberg s philosophy to Missoula, Montana, gain support to change our current education policy
and adopt the Sahlberg s approach to education. First, I need to initiate a campaign to gain
support in the community. In order to raise the level of education to a superior level additional
income is needed. Two policies are needed to capture and change the perspective on education
fostering and titled, Equality in Child Education, (ECE). The first policy addressed, incorporates a
Kids Tax on all candy, snacks and soda s purchased within the city. The revenue generated from the
Kids Tax would be used to additionally fund salaries and implement an academic program mirroring
the top preforming schools in the United States. The second policy, to incorporate all children in

Hardware Design Practices For Modern Hardware
Hardware is the basis of any computing system and, as such, should be the first part of the system
to consider security. The research presented in Trustworthy Hardware from Untrusted Components
looks at the present state of hardware security, analyzes the vulnerabilities and possible solutions,
and presents an alternative approach to ensure that the end result of the hardware design process
is a secure and trustworthy piece of hardware. There are many factors that contribute to the current
susceptibility of hardware to attacks. Modern hardware design practices incorporate the use of
more third party intellectual property (IP) components, such as USB components. Modern
hardware design practices require that a piece of hardware pass through thousands of engineers in
the stages from design to manufacture. Modern hardware is much more complex than what has
been manufactured in the past. Finally, modern hardware is designed by teams with relatively few
designers for each subcomponent. In an idealistic world, hardware would be designed and
manufactured in a single secure location with trusted personnel handling the process from
inception to manufacture; however, this idea is ineffective and cost prohibitive making it unlikely
to be put into practice. Hardware design follows a very similar process as the software engineering
lifecycle and even has many of the same steps. For instance, the first step in both processes is to
gather the specifications for the requirements. The

Sensitive Themes In The Song Forbidden, By Todrick Hall
I chose to use Forbidden, by Todrick Hall because his music addresses sensitive topics, such as
racism, struggles with being gay, and self acceptance. The song Forbidden is from his latest
album called Forbidden, which he has a YouTube channel where he created a video version of
each song. The videos and songs are about a society called Nacirema where being black and gay
is the norm, implying that it is a flip on our society. In the music video for Forbidden, the main
characters are encouraging the other refuges of love. They are singing and feeling a little defeated,
but towards the end everyone is feeling encouraged. The camera cuts to a few monitors, on them
we can see that the police have arrived with guns and riot shields. After the song

Factors That Affect The Growth And Germination Rates Were...
Plants are an essential part of survival for humans and animals and contribute significantly to
various areas of the lives of organisms. In order to better understand the different plants and its
requirements the growth and germination rates were investigated. The hypothesis stated that if the
dicotolydeons and monocotyledons are placed in the same environment and watered regularly, then
the dicotyledons will have a faster growth and germination rate.
In order for plants to survive, it is a necessity for the process of photosynthesis to occur.
Photosynthesis is the process wherein plants create oxygen and food for themselves (glucose) using
carbon dioxide, water and energy from the sun. Once this process is completed, plants are able to
grow using the nutrients provided by photosynthesis.
Word equation: carbon dioxide + water (SUNLIGHT AND CHLORYPHYLL) glucose + oxygen
There are many factors that affect photosynthesis such as light availability, carbon dioxide
concentration and temperature. Light is a limiting factor as if there is not enough light available,
the rate of photosynthesis will decrease. This is because without the light, the chlorophyll (not be
created) will be unable to absorb energy from the sun, resulting in no food which is required for
survival. Temperature plays an essential role in photosynthesis as well. As the temperature
increases, so does the rate of photosynthesis. As it is a chemical reaction, an increase in temperature
will cause enzymes and

Best Work Environment Analysis
The place that I feel the most comfortable and able to work and succeed the best is when I work
with others that I can trust. I can have the so if I need help I can ask them. Then if the group
works together we with accomplish more. Well that idea and detail of the best work environment
for me is the most important because, it helps me and also the others that helped me. Also the ones
who helped me are the one I helped so, they would improve. Another idea that I would like to have
in my environment is the respect that others and I deserve, but if they don t deserve it they won t
get it which is not the environment that I want. I want there to be respect in the environment. There
are times when you have a rough time and people don t have respect,

The purpose of the journal is also to provide information in regards to the locations of bases and strongholds. For those of you who know me now, the beginning of my tale may be difficult to believe because I was a much different person all those years ago. If you are a total stranger to myself and my cause, you will learn the best ways of contacting the resistance and getting this to their leader if I am gone. All of these events were witnessed by me and added to by others that were there with me. I will begin my story on the day that my life changed forever, the day on which I nearly... Now for those of you who know nothing of my past, it may come as a surprise to you that I was very passive in my youth. I never acted first, I always reacted to my surroundings but it all changed with The Paradise. As I stood behind that door fearing for my life, I came to the conclusion that I could die that day, that everything I had ever known would end and I would be forced into whatever came next. They re trying to board us Captain, what do we do? a crew member near the door asked. Before the captain responded, a voice carried clearly from the other ship. We are the King s men, prepare to be boarded, someone from the privateer said. At this I naively believed that we were all safe. I should have known better but I blame my upbringing that I was not able to anticipate what would happen next. I felt a dull thud reverberate along the wooden floor of the door frame. The four men that came aboard first were all armed with crossbows slung across their backs and swords at their belts. They were followed by a man in armor who had only a sword. The man who appeared to be the captain of the other vessel approached the center of the ship as his men spread out, gathering all members of the crew near the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Election Swept Away Years Of Liberal Government The 1997 general election swept away eighteen years of Conservative government, replacing it with a Labour majority government with a majority of 179; their largest majority ever, surpassing even the 145 seat majority won by the party in 1945. Under the Labour landslide, several prominent Tory MPs and frontbenchers were defeated by Labour, Liberal Democrat and Scottish National candidates, such as Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind, Scottish Secretary Michael Forsyth, Trade Secretary Ian Lang, former Health Secretary Edwina Currie, former Chancellor of the Exchequer Norman Lamont, former Minister for Fun (National Heritage) David Mellor, and scandal embroiled former Minister Neil Hamilton (who was defeated by the Labour and Liberal... Even if one of these species neglect their responsibilities the whole system shuts down; thus, every creature is connected and cannot be seperated from each other. Despite all this, human race see itself as the king of the jungle. They are greedy, careless and ignorant. Because of humans oceans are getting filthy, recourses are diminishing, and the air is becoming intoxicating. According to cleantechnica.com the prices vary from 2,000 US Dollars to 3,000; thus, customers have to keep in mind that they might need to replace their batteries once or twice, so it requires at least 5,000 dollars of investment. In addition, most batteries are very large and heavy which is a disadvantage for the aggressiveness of the car since it slows it down. This might not be a big issue for some people; however, there are performance enthusiasts who seek pace in their vehicles; perhaps all electric vehicles aren t the best option for them. As a conclusion, all electric vehicles are designed perfectly to give at least damage as possible to nature unless the electricity required to run the vehicles is produced by non eco friendly power plants, but there are plent of power plants that use sun, wind, water and nuclear energy in order to get electricity, and their numbers are constantly rising throughout the world. The only downside of all electric vehicles is certainly the battery; whereas, most people are optimistic about this issue as fueleconomy.gow states, However, researchers are working on improved battery technologies to increase driving range and decrease recharging time, weight, and cost. • 7. Criminal Behavior In Children The ability to attempt to make a better and safer society can begin by being able to determine criminal behavior in children based on personal characteristics, demographic factors, generational factors, and/or abuse problems. The use of a neural network could be used in an effort to make these predictions with science and technology. A neural network is a type of artificial intelligence system used to make predictions based on a wide variety of information and patterns (Haag, S., Cummings, M. 2013). The ability to be able to predict potential criminal behavior in children can possibly be thwarted with education and behavioral adjustments. Criminal behavior can be detected in children as young as 6 (Lowry, 2013). Parole boards use... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the main factors for criminal activity based on demographics is race, age, and sex. There have been studies linking young males who are members of disadvantaged minorities are at higher risks of criminal activity (South Messner, 2000). In poor neighborhoods children are more likely to become involved with gangs in order to belong and have a purpose. Poverty is reality for approximately 16 million children in the United States and these communities are subject to higher crime rates (Kearney Harris, 2016). Technology has introduced using artificial intelligence to help predict criminal behavior in people based on algorithms. This technology would be a type of neural network to gather data from children and parents to try to predict criminal behavior before a child turns 18. Richard Berk, from the University of Pennsylvania, is currently working on a system to teach computers to identify patterns to make predictions (McGorrery Gilmore, 2016). Between January 2007 and October 2011, Richard Berk and Susan B. Sorenson, a professor of social policy in Penn s School of Social Policy Practice, obtained data from 28,000 domestic violence arraignments to teach the computer the type of people most likely to reoffend. Berk said, In all kinds of settings, having the computer figure this out is better than having us figure it out, (Berger, 2016). The family has good intentions by taking care of the veteran who is experiencing difficulty, but the caretaking becomes compulsive and defeating. Co dependents often take on a martyr s role. • 13. The Accomplishments Of Sir Isaac Newton Sir Isaac Newton has been repeatedly portrayed since the last quarter of his life as practically peerless as a natural philosopher. Newton s achievements were unquestionably useful, diverse and exceptionally inspired (although not all of his work has endured or has been considered valuable1). Fara recounts contemporary, repeated declarations of his seemingly unbelievable genius from elite figures such as X and Voltaire2. This theme has continued in popular culture, mostly unchallenged, to the present day. FIND NEWTONIAN MOMENT. Even within academic accounts, praise is still unusually superlative. For example, Westfall has called the Principalia Mathematica (1686) the culmination of the scientific revolution.3 Principalia was merely the crowning achievement in an outstanding career in natural philosophy that eventually helped to enhance emerging intellectual fields, from chemistry to calculus to astronomy. Just as important to his posthumous reputation was Newton s eccentric personality. His frequently otherworldly, reclusive habits, stoicism, piety, and reluctance to share his ideas publicly4 seemed to compliment his near Promethean talents for novel reckoning. His supposed tendencies towards gentle, almost playful absorption in intellectual thought and supposed casual disinterest in personal matters (i.e. love, sex, or lasting friendship) were firmly enshrined by his early biographers Conduitt5 and Stuckey6. Leading on from this, there has also been a recurring ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Brain Is The Most Important Components Of The Human Brain The brain is the greatest, the most fascinating and the most complex organ of the human been. According to Dr. Wolfe, the human brain weighs about three pound. Humans do not feel its weight because it is full of fluids and it is floating. The human brain consumes ten times more oxygen of all the humans body parts and 25% of the total energy produced by the body. It is not the largest part of the humans body, but it is one of the most important parts. Through the years educators were like doctors giving certain treatment to their patients without being sure what the disease was. If the first treatment given did not work they gave another treatment and so on. Nowadays technology has help to study how animals and humans brainworks. It also has helped to discover how and where information is manipulated within the brain during the learning process. To discover how the brain works, the brain was divided in many parts. According to the book, the brain structures are cerebellum, brain stem, temporal lobe, broca s area, frontal lobe, motor cortex, sensory cortex, parietal lobe, wernicke s area, occipital lobe, hypothalamus and pituitary gland (Bohlin, Durwin, Reese Weber, 2012). The major lobes of the brain are frontal, occipital, parental and temporal and each of them has different functions during the learning process. Frontal lobe is responsible for higher standard thinking. According to the book, during the learning process, frontal lobe controls attention, creative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. The Task Of The Translator By Walter Benjamin Walter Benjamin s essay, The Task of the Translator, is illuminating in the way in which it shatters any preconceived ideas that may view the act of translation as diminishing the value of the original. Benjamin has high regard for translation, placing it in the realm of art as a distinct form. He argues that art is not about the audience or the receiver that is, it is not primarily about communication. The purpose of art is not to instil a specific belief, impart information or to entertain certain sentiments in the reader thus, appreciation does not reside in generating a moral by interpreting its content. As an art form, translationfor Benjamin is not about propagating ideas or beliefs but is about embarking on the task of attaining pure... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Likewise, translation cannot be considered to interact with the reader, seeking to communicate the meaning of the original text as the content is not essential in our appreciation of the text. His question assumes the original and the translation as distinct categories, both of which, for him, are works of art. Apart from carrying messages and prolonging the value of texts, what is unique to translation is its potential to express the central reciprocal relationship between languages (72), its kinship to another language and its potential to bring out the pure language where the mutually exclusive elements among languages can mingle and supplement one another (74) and where complementary intentions between two languages can be communicated. Therefore, the translator should not be restrained by the burden of relaying what the original means. Benjamin claims that languages are not strangers to one another, but are, a priori and apart from all historical relationships, interrelated in what they want to express (72). The affinity between languages can best be brought out by an accurate transmission of the form and meaning of the original ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Live Indians were seen as problematic because they refused to die out and they were not wanted in society (61). Canada and the US categorized Indigenous people creating a complex paternalistic system because Indigenous people were seen as inferior. The American and Canadian governments sought to control Indigenous people without any regard for their human dignity, nor did they acknowledge the different tribes, languages or customs and instead set about creating a single entity that would stand for the whole group (82). Instead of treating each group differently, the one size fits all approach was taken because it required less work on the governments part and reinforced the message that Natives were not important enough for individual recognition. King shows the assimilation and elimination that Indigenous people endured and how the governments decided that they had to either butcher or civilize the Indians quickly (108). A major assimilation policy were residential schools which targeted children so their culture would die out by the next generation. King compares colonialism to malaria stating that it can lie dormant for many years and then flare up again which is what happened in in the US in 1887 with the General Allotment Act (128). Washington attempted yet again to increase assimilation, the policy broke up reserves and enforced US citizenship on Indigenous people. Meanwhile Canada had the White Paper of 1969 ... Misconceptions About Wolves Many have heard of the famous fairytale, Little Red Riding Hood, in which wolves are portrayed as evil beings, that have no intention of affection for humans but instead, the instant thought of hunger, of devouring the individual whole. This story makes one wonder whether wolves are lovely or evil creatures. In Idaho, West America, a lengthy debate is currently being battled out about the gray wolves which now remain in small numbers, reported as 1600. These wolves according to some groups need to be secured, with other opinions that suggest otherwise. • 18. Analysis Of Anton Chekhov s The Lottery Ticket I Stand Here Ironing vs. The Lottery Ticket In Anton Chekhov s The Lottery Ticket , we are presented with a couple who, half believing they have won the lottery, give themselves over to daydreaming what the future may hold with their winnings. The point of view is that of the husband though it is clear, throughout, that his thoughts find their echo in his wifes. At first his thoughts are pleasant but then, as he takes into account the differences, (some of them supposed), between himself and his wife, knowing the winnings would be his wife s and not his own, he sees trouble ahead, and becomes resentful of her. Only then does he check the final number to find that they have not won after all, at which point the reality of their relatively impoverished situation takes hold and life, once again, appears gloomy and mundane. In Tillie Olsen s I Stand Here Ironing , a mother meditates upon the history of her now troubled teenage daughter, a daughter she feels she can do little to help. Her daughter s temperament clearly arises from a troubled childhood. Abandoned by her father, with competition from other siblings, raised in an impoverished environment, there is little wonder as we read Olsen s description that the daughter should have turned into a troubled young woman. For some topics its easier than others, but when you re trying and prove the whole idea of discovery wrong it may be more difficult. Thomas Kuhn writes Historical Structure of Scientific Discovery in an attempt to try and convey his message that the timeline role of discoveryis wrong. He denies the idea about how some discoveries are misleading and make it seem they were found in a single moment. When you write you must assume that anyone can read it, so you have to keep your audience in mind. Different articles of science will bring in all kinds of readers. Not only was he writing to historians and scientists, but to the general public, so he needed to structurehis writing to appeal his audience. Kuhn starts his project by letting readers know his purpose, he denies the idea of how an individual made a discovery at any moment. He opens up the reading to show what he finds wrong, so the readercan begin to paint a picture in their head. He gives his opinion on discovery and writes what he believes to be true. He makes an attempt to put the reader in his place and see things from his input. When a writer is able to put a reader in their shoes it becomes easier to perused them. With 42% of its electorate voting for either the Social Democrats or Communists in 1928, and with a population both embracing homosexuality and redefining gender roles, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party were somehow able to take power in the democratic system. Though Hitler s rise to power certainly was not peaceful, it did not solely rely on violence. To the detriment of the minority, indifference of the majority was all that was needed to carry out many plans. Citizens of the Weimar Republicwere not initially ready to allow a dictatorship that would produce the horrors of Hitler s regime; instead, Paul von Hindenburg, the Catholic Center Party, and ultimately, the once progressive German public all overlooked the atrocities of the Nazi Party due to the deceptions of Adolf Hitler, the creation of common enemies, and the systematic pacification of the German people. Adolf Hitler s appointment to the chancellor is attributed to the Great Depression of 1929, the rise of the Nazi Party, and an underestimation of Hitler by the Conservative Party. Measuring Chirality At Ibuprofen Using A Homemade Polarimeter Measuring Chirality in Ibuprofen Using a Homemade Polarimeter Sydney Guerin December 9, 2016 May River High School Abstract For this project, I will be conducting multiple experiments regarding the chirality of different forms of ibuprofen. The question I m trying to solve is whether or not common brands of ibuprofen have the same formulation. In order to perform this exercise, I will need to create a homemade polarimeter in order to measure the angle at which the brands of ibuprofen will reflect light, resulting in finding out if the chosen brands have a varied rotation of light. I believe that the different brands will reflect at different angles based off of its chirality. After performing the tests, the results I have gathered led me to believe that my hypothesis was proven to be wrong. The Motrin, Advil, and Equate seemed to all get bright in the same areas. The only difference was that the Motrin was the brightest one out of them all. Like minded individuals not only validate our beliefs about the world, but also reduce the risk of conflicts and disagreements (Barelds Barelds Dijkstra, 2007, p. 479). In fact, research has shown that people are more likely to be in relationships with others who are similar to themselves in terms of attitudes, values, social group memberships, and physical appearances than with dissimilar others (Mackinnon, Jordan, Wilson, 2011, p. 879). Physical Similarity A study conducted by Mackinnon, Jordan, Wilson (2011) examined how seating preferences are affected by physical similarity in strangers. The researchers proposed that people would sit closer to physically similar others even when those physical similarities are unrelated to important markers of social status, such as sex and race. The study states that without the opportunity to interact facilitated by physical proximity, a relationship is less likely to form (Mackinnon, Jordan, Wilson, 2011, p. 879). Across 4 studies, it was found that people tend to sit closer to physically similar others than physically dissimilar others. Study 1 revealed significant aggregation in seating patterns on two easily observed characteristics: glasses wearing and sex. Seating arrangements at a Canadian university on campus computer lab with 31 seats was observed on 21 (non overlapping) occasions over 3 months. Using a seating diagram, the researcher recorded whether a person occupied each seat. In total, 356 individuals were observed; 23% were wearing glasses (N = 82) and 57.6% were women (N = 205). This shows that, as predicted, glasses wearers sat by other glasses wearers (and non glasses wearers by other non glasses wearers) more frequently than expected by chance alone. Study 2 replicated this finding with a wider variety of physical traits: race, sex, glasses wearing, hair length, and hair color. In the second study, 18 university classes (freshman and sophomore level) were observed. Three large classrooms at a Canadian university were chosen, and professors who taught courses in those classrooms were emailed for permission to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Kant s Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysics of Moral Kant s Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysics of Moral The central concept of Kant s Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysics of Morals is the categorical imperative. The conception of an objective principle, in so far as it is obligatory for a will, is called a command (of reason), and the formula of the command is called an Imperative. (Abbott, 30) An imperative is something that a will ought or shall do because the will is obligated to act in the manner in which it conforms with moral law. The categorical imperative is an obligation by the will to act so that the action can be classified as a universal law. When one acts in conformity with the universal law at all times, they are following out the categorical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The action of killing oneself would cause pain, which is not in conformity to the maxim stated to avoid pain. The second example Kant gives is based on the basic premise of lying. A man is forced to borrow money which he knows he will never be able to repay but he promises to do so anyway. This action is not consistent with duty and the maxim could be expressed as: When I [the man] think myself in want of money, I will borrow money and promise to repay it, although I know that I never can do so. (Abbott, 39) The maxim cannot hold as a universal law because if everyone lied about promises, the promise itself would become impossible, and the end would be unattainable. Telling the truth is an end in itself. The third example is of a man who it bestowed a natural ability but does not use it to it s full extent. Kant sees this as not a categorical imperative because a rational being necessarily wills that he develop his skills for many possible reasons. Rational beings are an end in themselves, and if you do not better yourself, you are not serving yourself.(Abbott, 40) Lastly, the fourth man, in great prosperity, has a chance to help others in need and does not. This can be viewed as a workable universal law, but it cannot be willed as the good thing to do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Ipv4 vs Ipv6 The IPv4 came before the IPv6 and these datagrams are similar in many ways but also differ in more ways than one. IPv6 came out in the year 2004 and still uses many of the features that made IPv4 so successful. IPv6 is supposed to become the new standard over the older version of IPv6, but it is tough for v6 to take its spot when v6 cannot support everything v4 does, basically v6 cannot connect to a v4 system. Some differences are that it is stated that the IPv6is more secure than the IPv4, the address size went from 32 bits in the IPv4 to 128 bits in the IPv6, extensible protocols are more flexible in the IPv6, IPv4 and IPv6 are not compatible, the IPv4 will not be able to support additional nodes or support for applications, and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason why the address is longer in v6 is because it can support over 340 undecillion IP addresses. Mainly because the IPv6 has potential to have problems just like the IPv4 address problems. Also, the IPv6 has been broken down into geographical locations, meaning that the address can be tracked to a specific location in the world. The downfall in this part, in my opinion, in a hacker s point of view, is that you can breakdown a specific location where you would want to attack, if you know the geographic location of the hexadecimal in the address. What I mean is that you can know the country code in the IPv6 address and focus your attack in that specific location. Having a random order of the v6 address would make it more reliable and more secure but also would allow disorder, not knowing where specific address might be located. IPv6 is more flexible in using protocols which, are mainly defined as the Request for Comment (RFC) that we discussed in the discussions. Protocols are defined in the RFC, but the name of the protocol will be something like Internet Protocol, Internet Control Message Protocol, Telnet Protocol, and many more. The reason why these Protocols are more flexible in the IPv6 is for one, the IPv6 is a newer technology than the IPv4, and the IPv6 also has more functionality and allows more flexibility in the protocols, whereas the ... Federalism was established in the constitution supremacy clause, providing that each state in the U.S. is a sovereign entity and has the power to create and ratify laws according to the needs of the state and make public policy. All states have different characteristics such as demographics of its citizens, geography, natural resources, and different types of businesses and industries. • 45. Hardware Design Practices For Modern Hardware Hardware is the basis of any computing system and, as such, should be the first part of the system to consider security. The research presented in Trustworthy Hardware from Untrusted Components looks at the present state of hardware security, analyzes the vulnerabilities and possible solutions, and presents an alternative approach to ensure that the end result of the hardware design process is a secure and trustworthy piece of hardware. There are many factors that contribute to the current susceptibility of hardware to attacks. Modern hardware design practices incorporate the use of more third party intellectual property (IP) components, such as USB components. Modern hardware design practices require that a piece of hardware pass through thousands of engineers in the stages from design to manufacture. Modern hardware is much more complex than what has been manufactured in the past. Finally, modern hardware is designed by teams with relatively few designers for each subcomponent. In an idealistic world, hardware would be designed and manufactured in a single secure location with trusted personnel handling the process from inception to manufacture; however, this idea is ineffective and cost prohibitive making it unlikely to be put into practice. Hardware design follows a very similar process as the software engineering lifecycle and even has many of the same steps. For instance, the first step in both processes is to gather the specifications for the requirements. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Factors That Affect The Growth And Germination Rates Were... Plants are an essential part of survival for humans and animals and contribute significantly to various areas of the lives of organisms. In order to better understand the different plants and its requirements the growth and germination rates were investigated. The hypothesis stated that if the dicotolydeons and monocotyledons are placed in the same environment and watered regularly, then the dicotyledons will have a faster growth and germination rate. In order for plants to survive, it is a necessity for the process of photosynthesis to occur. Photosynthesis is the process wherein plants create oxygen and food for themselves (glucose) using carbon dioxide, water and energy from the sun. Once this process is completed, plants are able to grow using the nutrients provided by photosynthesis. Word equation: carbon dioxide + water (SUNLIGHT AND CHLORYPHYLL) glucose + oxygen There are many factors that affect photosynthesis such as light availability, carbon dioxide concentration and temperature. Light is a limiting factor as if there is not enough light available, the rate of photosynthesis will decrease. This is because without the light, the chlorophyll (not be created) will be unable to absorb energy from the sun, resulting in no food which is required for survival. Temperature plays an essential role in photosynthesis as well. As the temperature increases, so does the rate of photosynthesis. As it is a chemical reaction, an increase in temperature will cause enzymes and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
