Generation- and gender-dependent differences in social media use
This document summarizes the findings of a cross-cultural study on social media use in Germany, Poland, and South Africa. Gender identity and language use in teenage blogs
This study examines how teenagers present themselves and explore their identities through the language used in their blogs. The study found that male and female teenagers presented similar personal information in their blogs, such as names, ages, and locations. However, males were more likely to use emoticons and express themselves in an active style, and were more likely to indicate they were gay. The results suggest teenagers explore real issues of identity and sexuality through their blogs, as is common during adolescence, rather than adopting completely different online personas.

Hong Kong's internet freedom relies on its ability to access the global internet infrastructure without being subject to China's censorship and surveillance laws. However, as American internet companies comply more with Chinese requests to censor content and provide user data, Hong Kong residents may lose their only avenue for an open internet. The talk discusses how bordered networks and data localization laws can be used to exert control and limit freedom of expression and movement online. Ultimately, Hong Kong's temporary protection of an open internet rests on the assumption that American companies will not honor censorship demands from Beijing.

Television Presentation
Channel 4 began broadcasting in 1982 as the fourth publicly owned but commercially funded television channel in the UK. It was established to provide more diverse programming beyond the BBC and ITV. Channel 4 now offers several additional digital channels and internet streaming services.
