Conditionals
                     How to use “if”
 The first conditional
 • We use the first conditional to talk about a
   possible future event or situation and it result:
          "If" Clause                      Main Clause

If + present simple + comma (,)   Subject + will/other modal + verb.


    Ex.
            If it rains, we’ll go home.
Will/won’t can be replaced by modal verbs
 such as should/may/might/can:
  – If it rains, we might go home.
  – You can use my car if you want.
  The If clause can come either first or second:
    I’ll phone if you want.
     If you want , I’ll phone .
The second conditional
  We use the second conditional to talk about
  imaginary situations in the present or future:

      If + simple past, would/wouldn’t + verb.


 Examples:
  If I had the time, I’d exercise more.
  What would you do if you found a cell phone?
The third conditional
         Unreal conditions in the past.


    If+ past perfect simple or continuous + would/
      should/ could/ might have + past participle

   Examples:
1.If the telephone hadn’t woken me, I’d have been
   late for my appointment.
2.She could have gone to university if she’d wanted
   to.

3.What are you prepared when flooding
  caused?
Matching
1. Get in pair.
2. One people gets one sheet.
3. Listen to the audio carefully two times.
4. Dose the exercise on the sheet given (5 minutes).
5. Exchange your sheet with your friends.
6.The teacher will show the real correct answers on
  power point.
7. Take your sheet return to the teacher.

            strong, lie flat on the
            ground.

  • 12. Conditionals How to use “if” The first conditional • We use the first conditional to talk about a possible future event or situation and it result: "If" Clause Main Clause If + present simple + comma (,) Subject + will/other modal + verb. Ex. If it rains, we’ll go home.
