· Good content is crucial to building a good
name/reputation for yourself.
· Publish promotional or sales posts rarely.
· Focus on what customers want to know.
Publish Quality Content (cont’d)
· Write posts that create a bond with your
audience/potential clients.
· Tell them about you/your company but focus on them.
· Illustrate how you can solve their problems e.g. case
studies, clients’ stories.
· Choose topics people can relate to.
Engage with
Others’ Posts
· If you regularly engage on others’ posts, they will
likely reciprocate.
· The LinkedIn algorithm rewards your posts when
you comment on others.

Ultra-Short Posts
· They won’t get a boost from dwell time.
· They won’t trigger the ‘See more’ button.
· Short posts are less likely to be useful to readers.
No Hashtags
· Reduces the reach of the post.
· Posts without hashtags get fewer likes and comments.
Tagging wall
· OK to tag others if they’re quoted or of some relevance to the post.
· Otherwise, avoid using list of names at end of post (tagging wall).
· Looks ugly.
· If people on list don’t respond, LinkedIn penalises the post.
Block Formatting
· Solid blocks of text with no line breaks are
hard to read.
· Looks uninviting and puts people off.
Using Pre-
Formatted Posts
· Celebrate an Occasion option for posts e.g.
Give kudos, Work anniversary, Project launch,
New position, etc.
· These posts tend to bomb.
· Steer clear of them.
Posting Too Soon
After a Previous Post
· Especially not if previous post is doing well.
· A second post, if too soon, can hamper reach of the first.
· Wait till viewing numbers level out on the previous post.
· Don’t post multiple times a day for the same reason.
