The course covers the methodology of implementing risk-based inspection in the oil and gas industry, provides practice problems and quizzes, and is intended to help participants successfully pass the API 580 exam and develop risk-based inspection plans. 1. COURSE DESCRIPTION
 This course is designed to train individuals to understand the reasons for and benefits of
implementing RBI.
 This course will impart knowledge to the participant so that one can effectively plan successful
RBI projects and prepare risk-based inspection plans and optimize maintenance and inspection
intervals.
 Focused on methodology of actual implementation of RBI in Oil & Gas and other process
industry.
 It covers advanced knowledge of RBI implementation in addition to the knowledge required for
passing the API 580 Certification Examination.
2. COURSE CONTENT
 Facilitator lead classroom training modules with study of API Codes
 Reviewing example problems and solutions
 Solving practice problems and reviewing detailed solutions
 There will be quizzes throughout the course.
 There will be reading and take home assignments

4. LEARNING OUTCOME
The course will provide participants with the knowledge necessary to:
 Successfully pass the applicable API inspector certification exam
 Be familiar with API 580 exam format and it’s questions
 Prepare RBI plans for practical likelihood and consequence analysis.
 Develop an understanding on risk management with inspection activities.
 Determine the need to conduct a RBI reassessment, its process and updates.
 Recommend suitable risk mitigation actions such as equipment modification, redesign & rerating,
emergency isolation, inventory reduction, blast-resistant construction & more.
5. TARGET AUDIENCE / WHO SHOULD ATTEND
 NO Course pre-requisites requirement. However, participants who wish to sit for the API exam
should have an experience stated below.
 Personnel working in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry, and who are involved in the design,
procurement, engineering construction, operation, maintenance and inspection of pressure
vessel, piping and related process facilities.
 Engineers, Inspectors, maintenance and QA/QC personnel who work for owner-user companies,
inspection companies, fabricators, maintenance service and repair companies, and EPC's from
petrochemical plants, refineries, power plants, gas / oil pipeline companies, and palm oil mills
