If I was a Project Manager, what three qualities would I want? First and foremost, I would want to have the fortitude to accept my failures and the strength to drive forward despite of the failures. What made someone like Colonel Sanders (Kentucky Fried Chicken) successful? President Abraham Lincoln? Walt Disney? Vera Wang? All of these people were very successful people, but they also had many failures. So why were they successful? The answer is that they were not weak and crumbled at the first sign of failure. They were focused on their goal and they pushed forward to their success. That is the type of Project Manager I would like to be.
The second quality would be to communicate effectively. Have you ever had one of those bosses that you were always trying to figure out what he/she wants you to do? I have, and it came from lack of communication. As a Project Manager, I need to speak effectively so that there is absolutely no misunderstanding on what needs to be done.
Finally, I would want to have great people skills. A Project Manager needs to be able to listen actively to what others are saying, help develop new approaches for solving problems, and then persuade others to work toward achieving project goals (Schwalbe, K., 2013, p23). As a Project Manager, I would be working with people of different cultures. Understanding people will increase the chances of the project succeeding.
Any of the three characteristics above, either by themselves or in combination with each other, can also lead to project failure. So how do you become a great communicator, a great people person, and thick skinned? You work on it. Take a college course on communications or on people skills. Talk to your current employees and friends to get feedback from them on how you can improve. Then you devise a plan to start implementing their advice into your everyday life.

The three keys to Project Success seem to have the three factors that all successful projects have in common. Each of these factors is key to any project’s success. Each project can be viewed as a tripod. The three legs must be in place for the tripod to stand sturdily. In a systems project, these legs are critical success factors consisting of the following:

Solid technical leadership by someone who has successfully completed a similar project.

The exorbitant costs of hiring and training have constantly made the process of recruiting employees such a precarious process and managers should avoid making mistakes when recruiting since any mistake can have a detrimental impact on the company. To get employees with the skills that match the job description is such a hard task and prudent decisions ought to be made on how recruitment will be carried out both internally and externally. This is how recruitment will be carried out both internally and externally in this company and how the job applicants will be interviewed.
Job posting boards will be one of the devices that will be used for internal recruitment. This will advise employees on upcoming slots or vacancies within the company that they may like to vie for (Carroll, 2009). Intranet posts, fliers and email flashes are other methods that will be considered in internal recruitment. This will then seek to fill the vacant or new positions by creating temporary teams or permanent teams within the company. Those employees who have performed exemplarily will also be invited for promotions and the slots left void after the promotion will be considered for external applicants.
There are four ways that will be considered when recruiting externally. The first method will be to consider job centers that are mostly handled by government agencies that help unemployed persons to get training (Schweyer, 2012). Job advertisements which are one of the most common types of external recruitment will be our second consideration in case the government agencies fail to provide the needed employees.
Personal recommendation will also be another consideration bearing in mind that it is cheaper since the only thing required is a recommendation by a colleague or friend to a particular employee (Sylva, 2009). Despite the lengthy assessment of the potential employee that may follow thereafter since he/she will be a total stranger to you and a competence assessment is therefore necessary in order to determine whether he/she possesses the skills needed in the company, it saves greatly on the advertising costs.
There are two interview processes that are efficient for recruiting potential employees. Group interview : this process is one of the most efficient. This is because it will be able to identify the skills and potential of these applicants and determine whether their skills align with the job descriptions.
A one-on-one interview : A one-on-one process tests the confidence and commitment of any job applicant which are vital characteristic traits in the hiring . An employee may possess exemplary skills but lack the commitment to work for the company which may lo.

2. ► Uncertainty of future events: It
is one of the biggest
difficulties of planning process. It is matter of fact that planning is related
with forecasting of future events in an advance manner. And we know that
future is uncertain & risk-oriented what will happen tomorrow we can’t
say with certainty, but we can predict about future events through
planning. But it is not important the predictions which are made by us will
be in accurate form. Hence, it is clear that there is a fear of uncertainty of
future conditions in planning.
► Costly Process: It also creates a huge problem in course of
making plans of an organization. Planning refers to an expensive process
because it requires a lot of investment of money as well as effort. Infect,
planning involves collection of information & data from different source &
environment so that experts are needed to put into work in this field
which makes planning process more expensive. Thus, it is clear that
planning is a costly process.

3. ► Time Consuming Process: Planning is the time consuming process.
Because planning requires a lot of time for thinking, evaluating the business
conditions and drawing the final plan and so in case emergency or important
decision is required it will take optimum time and business will lose its golden
opportunity. As a result business organization cannot be run smoothly for a long
period.
► Lack of Accuracy: There is lack of proper accuracy in planning. Because
we know that panning is based on future & future is always uncertain &
unpredictable what will occur tomorrow we can’t say with certainty. Thus to
make reliable data and accurate prediction is too necessary. In the absence of
reliable data & accurate prediction, there is chance of business loss and failure.
On the whole it is clear that there is lack of proper accuracy in planning.

4. ► Difficulty in the Selection of the best Alternative: It is one of
the greatest demerits of planning. Infect, planning provides a large number of
alternatives to organization to perform its events or activities in the best form.
But it is not possible for organization to select the best alternative amongst the
various alternatives because organization has no clear idea about the best
alternatives, due to large appearance of alternative courses. So that it is clear,
there is difficulty in the selection of the best alternative course in planning.
► Limited Flexibility: There is lack of required flexibility in planning. It
is matter of fact that in organization every personnel are bound to do their
assigned tasks according to preset plans of organization. Hence, in case the
personnel face the difficulties in course of executing the tasks then they have
no rights to bring changes in the plans of organization on the sport. Thus it is
clear; there is lack of required flexibility in planning.

5. ► Psychological Barriers: Psychological Barriers are also creating
great difficulties in course of making business plans. In every organization
upper level managers give the priority to present events in comparison to
future events because present is more certain & beneficial to organization
rather than future. But on the other hand we know that planning relates to
forecasting of future events in advance manner. Hence, how can it possible
that managers will give important to present. On the whole we can say that
there is conflict in manager’s mind about planning due to psychological
differences.
