LIGHTING
PLAN
 A perfect lighting can create an inviting
space for guests by giving some attention
to the details. It only takes a split second
to make a good impression when a guest
first enters a hotel, so make it count with
warm and inviting hospitality lighting.
 The right light gives a hotel room a bright
and friendly atmosphere.
 The wrong light can ruin a nicely
decorated room.
ENTRANCE AREA
 The entrance of any establishment should be inviting and light
should be in its character and atmosphere of the place.
 A false ceiling with mirror can illuminate more light and can give
the impression of great height, as well as providing interesting
reflection of light.
 During the day, an entrance can appear dull and dim if one comes
from outside. The light in the hall should be bright enough at the
reception desk, on display boards etc. Care should be taken to
avoid glare but the light should be sufficient for the guest to be
able to read clearly.
LOBBY
 The hall of a hotel, often considered a place of passage, a simple transit to
reach the rooms or other rooms of the structure, is actually a very
important space, as it provides the first impression of the hotel, it makes it
clear to guests where find, the message and the type of hotel.
 The light will guide the guests, helping them to easily recognize the
reception or the sitting rooms where to store their things and, therefore,
the lighting will be softer. As for the quality of light, the hall must be
balanced between vertical and horizontal lighting: a certain brilliance of
the materials will serve to soften the shadows produced by the luminous
bodies directed on the reception counter.
RESTAURANT
 The atmosphere of the restaurant must be enveloping and
relaxing, to offer guests moments of relaxation and induce them to
a relaxed conversation through the use of good lighting levels in
the spaces dedicated to the staff and behind the exhibitors, for a
good color rendering and control of light, carefully avoiding that
lights can dazzle customers.
 A greater variety of visual effects are created so that the target to
which the hotel is aimed is made up of a younger audience, with
the aim of attracting and creating a different atmosphere, for
example with color-changing LED systems.
PUBLIC AREAS
 In the common public areas, you can create interesting lighting effects
by integrating the light into the hotel architecture with customized
solutions for the environment.
 The atmosphere in the longue should be of comfort and restfulness
 In cafeterias and coffee shop high degree of illumination is preferred in
order to encourage high degree of turnover.
 Chandeliers may look elegant in a banquet hall
GUEST ROOM & CORRIDOR
 Guest should be able to see room number clearly, light fitting in
corridor should not be fitted less than1.5 times their distance from the
floor.
 Stairs should be well lit to avoid accidents. Light can be fitted into
stairs themselves or just below the hand rail.
 Guestrooms do not necessarily require general lighting bit different
parts of the room should be well lit. Switches should be easily
accessible, especially near the entrance.
 Dressing table lamp should lit the face of the person standing before
it.
 For reading and writing there should be ample light, which is
adjustable.
