Calvin Harris-This is what you came for ft Rhianna. • The introduction to the music video features bright and harsh lighting from the outside scenes being a beach, forest but then to contrast the bright open space with a darker room with a gentle glow that lights a large cube. This is done as a possible binary opposite between the atmospheres and settings of being free and enclosed. Rhianna is shown to be inside this cube with a darker lighting behind her , however she is lit with a almost ring light glow separating her from the darker background to show she is the main focus to the audience and the glow is almost an angelic halo glow. The cube projects images of the outside world but compared to the harsher lighting that it opened with, the lightning is softer to not draw too much attraction from the singer. Another point that was made is that when the music started to pick up tempo then the lights would match the beat of the song and would speed up to every beat.

Bad romance Lady GaGa • It introduces us to harsh and bright artificial lighting featuring the artist and dancers to then contrast a dark room with artificial light seeping through the windows to mimic a sunrise through the windows, possibly to show the starting of the music video. I noticed with this that the lighting would turn darker on the artist and background whenever anything negative were to happen, for example when Lady Gaga is in the shower block the lighting would be almost completely dark then back again to the bright and harsh lighting of the right white room however a fire occurs which shows that the lighting can foreshadow anything bad about to happen within the music video .
