3. We had a difficult session last week. We “woke
up” to a new reality. Humanity is changing before
our eyes. The reality will grow darker still this
week.

4. The Ultimate Temptation
• Ricoeur has called Freud, Marx, and Nietzsche
„masters of suspicion‟” (John Paul II, October 29,
1980).
• Fredrick Nietzsche: the desire for human to hasten
their evolution into the “superman.”
• Karl Marx: economic objectification of the individual.
• Sigmund Freud: the desire to “kill the father.”
• Sartre and du Beauvoir: Man is absolute freedom.
Love is impossible. It restricts our freedom so that it
makes us less human. Woman are the “sex second.”
The bond to the child restricts their freedom. To
become more human, they must become more free
by rejecting their maternity.

5. The Pill as a Type of “Anti-Sacrament”
• Contraception separates man and woman
from each other and allows them to “hide”
from God the Father.
• It takes the form of an “anti-sacrament.”
• It is a sign of the spiritual reality, but it also
activates that reality.
• Man, woman and their relationship is being
fundamentally changed.
• The decision of man and woman is impacting
all of creation.

6. Now it is time for us to talk money! Contraception
is BIG business. It‟s potential customer base
includes half of the world‟s population – on a daily
basis for approximately 30-35 years!
