pianist comductor and professional lecturer.He served as pianist
director of a USO concert unit that entertained the A llied Forces at
the E.T.O., the Marianas, amd the Hawaiian Islands in World War II.

in music.He finished Doctor of Philosophy Major in Composition from
Neotarian College ,Kansas in 1947 and Doctor of Music degree honories
from Chicago College in 1954.He is noted for this extra ordinary ability to do
impromptu classical improvisation
7. Rodolfo Cornejo started piano lessons with Gelacio Reyes at age of six.
At eight,he had his first retical, and she became the organist ot the Pasay
Catholic Church. He wrote his first composition, Glissando Waltz, at age 10. He
also wrote and published a military march, Salute, at age 13 .At 16 twenty six
of his works had been listed by the United Publishing co.. While he was
finishing his high school, he was already enrolled at the University of the
Philippines (UP) Conservartory of Music

Felipe Padilla de Leon is the son of Juan de Leon and Natalia Padillla
He is the third of four children by the second marriage of his mother .
Felipe de Leon married pianist Iluminada Mendoza with whom he had six
children.
14. In 1939 ,he graduated with a music teacher diploma, major in conducting.
Much later ,he took advances studies in composition under Vittorio Giannini of
the Julliard school of music in New York .De Leon received many awards
.Among them are composer of the year (1949), Musician of the year (1958),UP
Conservatory of music and others.

18. *Lucio Diestro San Pedro , Sr.(February 11, 1913 – March 31, 2002)was a
Filipino composer and teacher who was proclaimed a National Artist of the
Philippines for Music in 1991.
*Today, he is remembered for his contribution to the development of Filipino
regional band music and for his well- known compositions such as the Filipino
lullaby “Sa Ugoy ng Duyan” and the symphonic poem, “Lahing Kayumanggi”.
19. *San Pedro came from a family with musical roots and he became his career
early. When he was still young, he succeeded his deceased grandfather as the
local church organist.
*On May 9, 1991, President Corazon C. Aquino proclaimed San Pedro a
National artist of the Philippines for Music.

*He married Gertrudes San Pedro with whom he had five children : Rhodora,
Bienvenido, Maria Conchita , Maria Christina and Lucio ,Jr.
