Summary of role:
• Lead on driving customer excellence throughout all post sales activities including, commissioning, maintenance,
repair, remote optimisation and decommissioning of commercial products across the division. Ensure the
manufacturer is viewed as providing the best-in-class service.
• Manage the integration of Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and data capture / analysis into the
post sales activities being offered. This person will lead on the division’s Advanced Innovation Plan currently
being executed.
• Personnel. Engineers trained to install and maintain products are in high demand and short supply. Driving
resource efficiencies through learning and development, the utilisation of remote access services along with the
greater utilisation of the firm’s apprenticeship scheme, are all considerations in meeting this resource challenge.

KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
To have direct responsibility for this aftersales/service departments budget, sales
revenue, operational and P&L performance.
To be responsible for all day-to-day operational aspects within this department,
ensuring optimized organisational structure and resourcing to deliver the current
Innovation plan.
As a member of the Leadership Team (LT) work alongside and support the
Divisional Manager and LT colleagues in the development, implementation, and
reporting of the overall division’s business strategy.
To lead, manage and motivate direct reports to ensure high levels of colleague
engagement across the department and the effective delivery of objectives and
KPIs as appropriate within each area.
To ensure that the customer experience levels across the department exceed
industry expectations and all measures necessary to achieve this are in place,
continually reviewed and updated.
Working with the Business Support Director and other members of the Division’s
LT, to ensure the correct level of governance and communications are in place to
support all proposed business changes and adhere to the Division’s overall
continuous improvement methodology and practice.

Working at leadership team level with the ability and experience to operate with an enterprise
mindset contributing to the formulation of Division’s wider strategic plans.
Operationally sound, experienced in leading change management programmes and projects in
matrix organisations.
Technically sound with experience of developing and implementing strategic and operational
plans in order to be able to grow the Commercial Service and Maintenance business.
Experience of leading the development of a new “Life Cycle” service and product offering to
include “Software as a Service” and create new market opportunities in accordance with the
current innovation plan (IoT, artificial intelligence etc).
A good appreciation of how products impact their customers sustainability credentials, together
with an understanding for current operational legislation and the latest political green agendas
and policies.
Knowledge and experience of leading contractual negotiations and analysing contract risk.
Sales performance management tools and techniques knowledge.
