DaeHyun Sung「My FLOSS contribution activities in Korean and CJK areas(韓国語とCJK分野での私のFLOSS貢献活動)」(英語、50分)
Currently, I'm a full-time worker(Developer) & University student in Korea. I'll share the contributions in Korean and CJK in FLOSS Projects so far (such as KDE kcharselect, GNOME gucharmap, GNOME characters, LibreOffice, etc.) Also, I'll talk about CJK common & different issues. LibreOffice is mainly developed by Western European language speakers. So, LibreOffice's some CJK issues are caused by developers who don't understand CJK languages.
East Asian cultural sphere, East Asian Countries use Ideographs(漢字/汉字, Chinese Characters, Mandarin Chinese: hànzì, Japanese: かんじ kanji, Korean: 한자 hanja).
But, in Each country and region, Ideographs glyph shape is different in East Asia. Also, some ideographs meaning and sounds are also different. Also, The numeric expressions in Korea, China, and Japan are sometimes similar and different.
I will show some common consistency and differences issues between CJK(Korea, China, and Japan) and talk about how to handle collaborate in LibreOffice. I'll also share my challenges and future plans for FLOSS activities.

In South Korea, Both OWPML and ODF are a Document format standard as a public sector. The Republic of Korea government adopted OpenDocument as a part of Korean Industrial Standards KS X ISO/IEC 26300 in 2007.
However, In South Korea's academic field, the public & private sector, It is still using HWP(binary file format) as a document standard. They are still made and distributed in .hwp format. I'm a Full-time worker(Developer) & University student in Korea. This year, I transferred to Korea National Open University, major in Chinese Language & Literature & University student in Korea. As a university student, I talk about the inconvenience of using ODF when making documents in Korea. Also, I introduce the activities of the LibreOffice community since 2020 in Korea.
Last year(2020) and this year(2021) activities, such as participating in NIPA(The National IT Industry Promotion Agency - IT industry promotion organization operated by the Republic of Korea Government)'s open source activity hold programs, supporting Korea-Japan LibreOffice conference by NIPA, and LibreOffice Local Community's activities (such as Hacktoberfest activities).

Thank you The operation of differentiation does not apply to discrete-valued quantities, and thus
a frequency-differentiation property for the FS or DTFS does not exist. However, a frequency-
differentiation property does exist for the DTFT. Explain and comment supporting your
explanation with the proper equations.
Solution
Frequency differentiation property exists for dtft because it converts discrete in time domain to
continuous in frequency domain where as dtfs converts discrete in time domain to discrete in
frequency domain.
I had a chance to talk about the history and other interesting tidbits about the LibreOffice project at the Triangle C++ Developer's Group, and here is my slides.
There are hundreds of programming languages, and new ones are being created all the time. The first programming languages were invented in the 1950s, and since then, the field of computer science has seen the creation and development of many different programming languages, each with its own unique features and purposes.
Some of the earliest programming languages include:
• Fortran (1957): Developed by IBM, Fortran (short for FORmula TRANslation) was originally designed for scientific and engineering applications. It is still in use today, particularly for scientific computing and data analysis.
• Lisp (1958): Lisp is a high-level programming language that is known for its use of symbolic expressions and its flexibility. It is often used in artificial intelligence and machine learning applications.
• COBOL (1959): COBOL (short for COmmon Business-Oriented Language) was developed to be used in business applications. It is still in use today, particularly in government and financial systems.
• ALGOL (1960): ALGOL (short for ALgorithmic Language) was developed as a general-purpose programming language and was widely used in the 1960s and 1970s.
Other important programming languages that have been developed over the years include C, C++, Java, Python, and many others. Each of these languages has its own set of features and capabilities, and they are used in a variety of different applications.

Also, I share several Korean issues in LibreOffice. An example of the famous problem is hangul syllables for Middle Korean Language, Yet-Hangul(옛한글), and hangul syllables for the Jeju dialect (제주말 jejumal) issue.
In FLOSS, hangul syllables for the Jeju dialect (제주말 jejumal) font rendering is broken. Also, same issue is hangul syllables for the Middle Korean Language, Yet-Hangul(옛한글).
I talk about LibreOffice Korea Local Community's activities (such as Hacktoberfest activities).
At the end of the presentation, I share a plan to promote LibreOffice in Korea.

Link: https://events.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice-conference-2022/talk/VDSWHK/
I'm a full-time worker(Developer) & University student in Korea.
I will explain the state of the document format in Korea and the HWP Issue, briefly talk about HWP file formats.
My proposal talk needs to go remote. Due to personal issues, I can only attend the LibreOffice conference 2022 remotely.

First Steps with Globus Compute Multi-User EndpointsGlobus
In this presentation we will share our experiences around getting started with the Globus Compute multi-user endpoint. Working with the Pharmacology group at the University of Auckland, we have previously written an application using Globus Compute that can offload computationally expensive steps in the researcher's workflows, which they wish to manage from their familiar Windows environments, onto the NeSI (New Zealand eScience Infrastructure) cluster. Some of the challenges we have encountered were that each researcher had to set up and manage their own single-user globus compute endpoint and that the workloads had varying resource requirements (CPUs, memory and wall time) between different runs. We hope that the multi-user endpoint will help to address these challenges and share an update on our progress here.

A Study of Variable-Role-based Feature Enrichment in Neural Models of CodeAftab Hussain
Understanding variable roles in code has been found to be helpful by students
in learning programming -- could variable roles help deep neural models in
performing coding tasks? We do an exploratory study.

Graspan: A Big Data System for Big Code AnalysisAftab Hussain
We built a disk-based parallel graph system, Graspan, that uses a novel edge-pair centric computation model to compute dynamic transitive closures on very large program graphs.
We implement context-sensitive pointer/alias and dataflow analyses on Graspan. An evaluation of these analyses on large codebases such as Linux shows that their Graspan implementations scale to millions of lines of code and are much simpler than their original implementations.
These analyses were used to augment the existing checkers; these augmented checkers found 132 new NULL pointer bugs and 1308 unnecessary NULL tests in Linux 4.4.0-rc5, PostgreSQL 8.3.9, and Apache httpd 2.2.18.
- Accepted in ASPLOS ‘17, Xi’an, China.

How to Position Your Globus Data Portal for Success Ten Good PracticesGlobus
Science gateways allow science and engineering communities to access shared data, software, computing services, and instruments. Science gateways have gained a lot of traction in the last twenty years, as evidenced by projects such as the Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI) and the Center of Excellence on Science Gateways (SGX3) in the US, The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and its platforms in Australia, and the projects around Virtual Research Environments in Europe. A few mature frameworks have evolved with their different strengths and foci and have been taken up by a larger community such as the Globus Data Portal, Hubzero, Tapis, and Galaxy. However, even when gateways are built on successful frameworks, they continue to face the challenges of ongoing maintenance costs and how to meet the ever-expanding needs of the community they serve with enhanced features. It is not uncommon that gateways with compelling use cases are nonetheless unable to get past the prototype phase and become a full production service, or if they do, they don't survive more than a couple of years. While there is no guaranteed pathway to success, it seems likely that for any gateway there is a need for a strong community and/or solid funding streams to create and sustain its success. With over twenty years of examples to draw from, this presentation goes into detail for ten factors common to successful and enduring gateways that effectively serve as best practices for any new or developing gateway.

Enhancing Research Orchestration Capabilities at ORNL.pdfGlobus
Cross-facility research orchestration comes with ever-changing constraints regarding the availability and suitability of various compute and data resources. In short, a flexible data and processing fabric is needed to enable the dynamic redirection of data and compute tasks throughout the lifecycle of an experiment. In this talk, we illustrate how we easily leveraged Globus services to instrument the ACE research testbed at the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility with flexible data and task orchestration capabilities.

Why does Japan use default font size as 10.5pt?
pTEX and Japanese Typesetting - Haruhiko Okumura 村 晴
奥
彦 http://ajt.ktug.org/2008/0201okumura.pdf
For Japanese and Latin characters to mingle coordinately, the height
plus depth of the Latin font (i.e., 1 em) should be somewhat larger than
that of the Japanese font (1 zw). The 10-point js document classes use
10 pt (about 3.5146 mm; 1 pt = 1/72.27 in for TEX and pTEX) Latin font
with 13 Q (13 quarter-millimeter = 3.25 mm) Japanese font. The choice is
partly derived from the fact that many Japanese books are typeset with
13 Q fonts. The original choice by the pTEX developers was 9.62216 pt
(about 3.3818 mm) Japanese for 10 pt Latin. As a comparison, the
default font size of Microsoft Word in the Japanese environment is 10.5
pt (1 pt = 1/72 in) for both Japanese and Latin characters.
