Orientations, library tours & memberships
Introduction to library services presentation was done
for UCEP,ECD and Social work program. 80 students
have signed up for library memberships during the first
two weeks of September.
Curriculum content and instructor support
I am working with the following instructors and for the

psychology course
 Antony Koleoso APA for the research methods
course
 Yvonne Saddleback's Indigenous Studies 1911
course Tuesdays lunch hour class
 MLA citation basics for English 90 and library skills
for PAS-UCEP program with Mr. Sims
Public lecture: Treaties
Public Lecture about the treaties and people involved
with the treaties; presented by Bruce Cutknife on
Tuesday, September 22, 10-11:45 am. 45 participants
attended this presentation. Elders from the community
validated the data, answered questions to clarify the
issues related to treaties. Letters,maps, pictures of treaty
documents, and photographs made this presentation

The participants were from schools, universities,
colleges, and from the community. Their employers
were Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools, Samson
tribal office, Ermineskin Tribal office, Augustana
campus-University of Alberta, and Let's Talk Science
team.
FNMI workers, instructors, students, and community
members provided their feedback which is posted on the
following page.
Sharing Circle
Goals: To serve as a study and exam bank and to create
peer to peer support structure. To use library as a place
for group work. Subject focus: Psychology
Incentive: Instructor to give participation marks

Process of Sharing circle:
 Warm-up: 15 minutes to look at the textbook and
write the concepts
 Sharing circle 35 minutes to repeat each concept
four times in a sharing circle
 After the circle: Post the concepts on the wall,
communicate with the instructor, and follow-up with
the students

Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters.Recognizing
residential school survivors
Flora Northwest presented on September 30 from 10 to
11:45 am her experience of studying at Ermineskin
residential school for sixteen years. She shared her
journey of survival and education was her guidepost.
Capacity development by connecting with schools
Maskwacis Library coordinated the hosting of
Animation Presentation at Ermineskin Elementary
School on September 25, 2015 to celebrate Alberta
Culture Days.
The Bum Family from the Calgary Animated Object
Society presented two of their films and spoke to grades
1 through 6 students about how they are made. They
answered questions about animation and involved
students in demonstrations. Mom Christina Cook and
daughters Zaiya, Medina and Maezy did a great job of
engaging and including students in their presentation.
Students were inspired to try film making and the hour
was enjoyed by all.

Recognizing residential school survivors  Capacity development by connecting with schools Orientations, library tours & memberships Introduction to library services presentation was done for UCEP,ECD and Social work program. 80 students have signed up for library memberships during the first two weeks of September. Curriculum content and instructor support I am working with the following instructors and for the following courses:  Ruth Linklater and sharing circles for the psychology course  Antony Koleoso APA for the research methods course  Yvonne Saddleback's Indigenous Studies 1911 course Tuesdays lunch hour class  MLA citation basics for English 90 and library skills for PAS-UCEP program with Mr. Sims Public lecture: Treaties Public Lecture about the treaties and people involved with the treaties; presented by Bruce Cutknife on Tuesday, September 22, 10-11:45 am. 45 participants attended this presentation. Elders from the community validated the data, answered questions to clarify the issues related to treaties. Letters,maps, pictures of treaty documents, and photographs made this presentation intellectually stimulating. http://collegelibraryservices.blogspot.ca/2015/09/public- lecture-series-treaties.html The participants were from schools, universities, colleges, and from the community. Their employers were Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools, Samson tribal office, Ermineskin Tribal office, Augustana campus-University of Alberta, and Let's Talk Science team. FNMI workers, instructors, students, and community members provided their feedback which is posted on the following page. Sharing Circle Goals: To serve as a study and exam bank and to create peer to peer support structure. To use library as a place for group work. Sc., RSW  MCC Library Key Terms/Concepts Sharing Circle  Bonus: Participant Mark Worth 4%  Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:00 - 1:00 pm, September to November Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters.Recognizing residential school survivors Flora Northwest presented on September 30 from 10 to 11:45 am her experience of studying at Ermineskin residential school for sixteen years. She shared her journey of survival and education was her guidepost. Capacity development by connecting with schools Maskwacis Library coordinated the hosting of Animation Presentation at Ermineskin Elementary School on September 25, 2015 to celebrate Alberta Culture Days. The Bum Family from the Calgary Animated Object Society presented two of their films and spoke to grades 1 through 6 students about how they are made. They answered questions about animation and involved students in demonstrations. Mom Christina Cook and daughters Zaiya, Medina and Maezy did a great job of engaging and including students in their presentation. Students were inspired to try film making and the hour was enjoyed by all.
