4. What RFID is?
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification):
is the use of a wireless non-contact system
that uses radio-frequency electromagnetic
fields to transfer data from a tag attached to
an object, for the purposes of automatic
identification and tracking (based on
Wikipedia deffinition)
In a library…
RFID is the Bar Code best friend because of:
- RFID tag data capacity is large enough
- The tag can be read even if it’s not visible
- It favour data integrity
- Tags are more resistant
