3. Introduction On February 22, I received approval to perform a study on how best to “Stay Current with The Trends in Technology.”
4. Introduction Cont. The IT field requires constant learning in order to remain competitive in the field because, everyone who revolves around the IT field knows that technology is constantly changing. For instance, it was Gordon Moore who stated, “the number of components on a computer processor would continue to double about every two years.”
6. Research 1. According to my studies I found it necessary to choose an area of interest, because of the numerous subjects in technology. Including the following technologies: software & hardware, securities, and standards. 2. Next, I identified the resources available: Internet Textbooks and manuals Periodicals
7. Research Cont. The internet contains an abundance of information. Due to its ease of access an wealth of information the internet will be my best resource. Containing numerous articles and forum discussions. Next, periodicals contain the latest news from people in the IT field. For example, Augusta Technical College contains a limited selection of IT works to draw information. There are also free subscriptions to periodicals available for IT people.
8. Research Cont. Finally, technical documentation is quickly outdated. Textbooks and manuals are good for people just getting into the field. However, that information would soon enough be considered outmoded. 3. After acquiring my research I prioritized and identified the relevant information. Focusing on the most valuable points. 4. Finally, after analyzing my findings I prepared a recommendation.
10. Recommendation I recommend the internet utilizing its articles and discussion forums. It will serve as an IT workers best means of getting information. However, I would still include all my resources, so as not to miss out on any opportunities available in the job market.
