You will have to read one book and write a book review in class

BOOK REVIEW
1. Identify the Book:
book title, author's name, and perhaps the publisher, and year of publication
2. Classify the Book:
adventure, fantasy, humor, etc., if it is fact or fiction
3. Describe the Book:
Give an overall view of the book without giving away the outcome. You should
include quotes or scenes from the book that you think are representative of the
quality (or lack of quality) of the book.
4. Evaluate the Book:
Give your opinion of the book. You can support your opinion with details from
the book. You can compare it to other books you've read that are similar.

This year we are going to have a classroom library. You’ve

It’s not compulsory, but you should read at least one
book.
TASK 1: reading for pleasure
TASK 2 (optional): A SPEAKING BOOK REVIEW. Send me a
recording talking about the book you have read.
CLASSROOM LIBRARY INSTRUCTIONS
The teacher will write down the borrowing and returning dates but the
student must be sure that the teacher has written it correctly.
The student will be able to have the book for a month period.
If the book has a CD, the teacher will write it down next to the title of the
book and will check it when the student returns the book.
If the student loses, damages or doesn’t return the book, he/she will have
to pay it.

EXTRA ACTIVITIES
Presentations – 1st TERM: You have to prepare monologues about
the topics from the curriculum and you will have to perform your
monologue in front of the class. I will give you the topic.
Dialogues - 2nd TERM: You have to prepare the dialogues similar to
the ones of the final exam and perform them in class. I will give you
one dialogue per pair.
I will give you the dates and organization for these tasks in two
weeks.

  • 3. RENUNCIAS (SIGNING OFF) UNTIL THE 31st OF JANUARY 2014 No need to justify why. Online pre-enrollment (preinscribir) the next year that you want to study at the EOI. AFTER THE 31st OF JANUARY 2014. You will have to hand in an official note explaining your reasons for it. It will be subject to the approval of the Board of Governors (Consejo Escolar). If accepted you will be able to sign up for the course in September before all those people who did their online pre- enrollment.

  • 11. BOOK REVIEW 1. Identify the Book: book title, author's name, and perhaps the publisher, and year of publication 2. Classify the Book: adventure, fantasy, humor, etc., if it is fact or fiction 3. Describe the Book: Give an overall view of the book without giving away the outcome. You should include quotes or scenes from the book that you think are representative of the quality (or lack of quality) of the book. 4. Evaluate the Book: Give your opinion of the book. You can support your opinion with details from the book. You can compare it to other books you've read that are similar.
  • 12. CLASSROOM LIBRARY 2nd FOUR-MONTH PERIOD This year we are going to have a classroom library. You’ve got the list of books in the following blog : About a book http://aboutabookreaders.blogspot.com.es/ It’s not compulsory, but you should read at least one book. TASK 1: reading for pleasure TASK 2 (optional): A SPEAKING BOOK REVIEW. Send me a recording talking about the book you have read.
  • 13. CLASSROOM LIBRARY INSTRUCTIONS The teacher will write down the borrowing and returning dates but the student must be sure that the teacher has written it correctly. The student will be able to have the book for a month period. If the book has a CD, the teacher will write it down next to the title of the book and will check it when the student returns the book. If the student loses, damages or doesn’t return the book, he/she will have to pay it.

  • 15. EXTRA ACTIVITIES Presentations – 1st TERM: You have to prepare monologues about the topics from the curriculum and you will have to perform your monologue in front of the class. I will give you the topic. Dialogues - 2nd TERM: You have to prepare the dialogues similar to the ones of the final exam and perform them in class. I will give you one dialogue per pair. I will give you the dates and organization for these tasks in two weeks.

HOW YOU CAN PREPARE YOUR PRESENTATIONS You can write your presentations and listen to the pronunciation on the website: http://www.acapela-group.com/text-to-speech-interactive-demo.html Acapela is a fabulous resource to help you with pronunciation . Choose your voice, type the text and you will get a perfectly enunciated version. Repeat and learn. Great help for preparing your speeches! Se pueden recoger tantas notas como el profesor considere oportuno por destreza SI SI No Ningún alumno será eximido. NO La nota para aprobar es 60 y se aprueba por destrezas. Las destrezas no aprobadas se evaluarán en la convocatoria de septiembre.
