Letter of Appreciation
This letter acknowledges and appreciates Mr. SAMUEL Kennedy, Business Director, Asia-Pacific, at
danishknowhow®, Copenhagen, Denmark, for his contribution to the:
Project: Dairy support scheme, Location: Santa Cruz, Bolivia, South America,
Period: 2013-2014. Partners: SA. Christensen, Denmark and ALSA, Bolivia.
The project:
Purpose of the project was to setup a scheme to increase the volume and quality of milk to ALSA
(Bolivian dairy company), by delivering milking equipment from SAC and service from
danishknowhow® to the Bolivian farmers. This in a business scheme where farmers pay for the
service and equipment, through the milk they deliver.
Kennedy’s role & responsibilities:
Kennedy was appointed as external consultant to the project and later as employee of
danishknowhow. His role was as dairy-farm specialist to support small and medium dairy-farms in
Bolivia and as responsible for the business viability studies of the project.
Phase 1:
Kennedy designed and executed the market-research at select dairy farms, studied the local-
conditions: feed, cattle-health, government-support, analysed and scripted the project viability
enabling the Bolivian and Danish partners to take next steps.
Phase 2:
Worked closely with SAC, Denmark in order to suggest milking points and logistics of a mobile
milking and cooling solution, from the inception to conducting trials in Bolivia. Kennedy has carried
out all tasks successfully, exhibiting his ability to lead and meet critical mile-stones.
Kennedy delivered a production manual (knowhow, KPI, SOP & checklists in a simple format) to the
Bolivian milk producers and was paving the way to the commercial phase of the project.
Kennedy prepared reports, the business plan including the breakeven and suggested a simple but
effective strategy to build part of the milking and cooling solution locally, with critical components
shipped from Denmark.
Kennedy exhibited an in depth and mature understanding, of market realities, stake holder
expectations and creating semi-skilled to skilled job opportunities in developing countries.
The commercial phase of the project rolls out during Q2, 2015.
