Safety Net provided child protection training courses to 330 staff and volunteers from 83 organizations in 2011/2012. These courses helped participants understand risks to children and their organization's role in keeping children safe. Safety Net also reviewed safeguarding policies for 17 organizations, submitted criminal background check applications for 548 people from 72 organizations, and registered 91 Brighton and Hove organizations with the NSPCC child protection network. The training has helped new community groups establish strong child protection practices from the beginning.
