Between January 2014 and January 2015, NZF distributed over £1 million of Zakat to help over 1,000 individuals and families in the UK, launched initiatives to help ex-offenders and women in need, won the Community Organisation of the Year award, and partnered with other organizations to provide educational grants while raising awareness of Zakat and the issues facing the poor.

Most of us know that carrying out maintenance tasks on a routine basis helps to protect the fabric of our historic buildings and assures their survival for future generations to enjoy. In October 2006, the SPAB began its new five-year project to run free maintenance training courses for volunteers in England and Wales. The training courses focus on the routine work needed to keep the fabric of historic buildings in good condition and encourage people to clean their gutters, check their drains and repair slipped slates and tiles. Faith in Maintenance aims to promote sensitive and timely maintenance and encourage the many thousands of volunteers who care for historic churches, chapels, synagogues, mosques and temples to look after their buildings more effectively.
By the end of 2011, we hope to have provided 150 training courses for around 5,000 volunteers. In addition to the training courses, we have put together the Good Maintenance Guide, which contains a wealth of advice about the day-to-day care of historic places of worship as well as many references to related sources of help and guidance. We also run a telephone helpline and the Faith in Maintenance website, which features advice, case studies, an online maintenance forum and details of all our activities.Rspca

Mull and Iona Community Trust
Mull and Iona Community Trust held its AGM and Celebration of Achievement event in 2015. The summary discusses:

Celebrating schools October 2010

Community regeneration
The Level Crossing project in Llandovery, Wales converted a derelict building into a 40-bed bunkhouse to create jobs, training opportunities, and economic benefits for the town. Funding from four European grant programs totaling over £290,000 supported the project costs. In its first year, the bunkhouse hosted over 750 guests who spent money in the local area. It has created 8 local jobs and provided training to staff. The project aims to continue promoting economic development through tourism in Llandovery.

Mull and Iona Community Trust
Mull and Iona Community Trust held its AGM and Celebration of Achievement event in 2015. The summary discusses:
1) Sandy Brunton provided an update on community group funding distributed in 2014-2015 totaling over £14,000 for projects benefiting children, the elderly, schools, and more.
2) The event featured presentations on various MICT projects including hydro power and broadband initiatives, as well as opportunities to get involved through volunteering.

Celebrating schools October 2010

Other schools held fundraising events like fast day collections, chocolate fountains, and markets that raised thousands of pounds for CAFOD. Politicians also visited schools to discuss issues of poverty and climate change.
Community regeneration
The Level Crossing project in Llandovery, Wales converted a derelict building into a 40-bed bunkhouse to create jobs, training opportunities, and economic benefits for the town. Funding from four European grant programs totaling over £290,000 supported the project costs. In its first year, the bunkhouse hosted over 750 guests who spent money in the local area. It has created 8 local jobs and provided training to staff. The project aims to continue promoting economic development through tourism in Llandovery.
