2. Influnza
• Defination:
• influenza is a contagious respiratory illness caused by infuenza viruses that
effects the nose ,throat and lungs .Some people such as older people
,yound children and people with certain health conditions are at higher risk
of serious flue complications .Influenza is also reffered as flu.
• Etiology
• the flu is caused by influenza viruses that affects the nose ,throat and lungs
.these viruses spread when people with flue ,cough sneeze .or talk ,sending
droplets with the virus into the air and potentially into the mouths or noses of
people who are nearby.

fever and headache
stuffy or runny nose
cough
muscle pain
loss of appetite
hoarse voice
throat redness
red swollen tonsils
fatigue
some people may have vomiting
and diarrhoea
5. General Prevention Tips
• avoid close contact.avoid close
contact with people who are sick.
• stay home when you are sick.
• cover your mouth and nose.
• clean your hands with soap and
hand sanitizer.
• avoid touch your eyes,nose and
mouth.
• practise other good health habits.
• eat healthy and balanced meales
to strengthen your immune
system.

your imune system.

• usually you need nothing more than

• plenty of fluids
• if you have a severe infection ,your doctor may prescribe a antiviral drug.
• eat a light diet.
• stay at home .
• consume water and clear liquids .
