Does a workforce differ dependent on the type
of production?
• What are the differences between
a workforce on a AAA game and
an indie game?
Permanent Vs Freelancer
• Permanent job roles require staff to be at
work for a lasting period of time, whereas
freelancers are required to work for a fixed
period of time until their contract ends.
• For example; 1 month or until a job is
complete.
• What do you think the benefits and
drawbacks of working as a freelancer are?
• How does the company benefit from this?
• Will this differ dependent on the type of
production?
Recruiting Staff
In small groups discuss the ways in
which staff recruitment could be
dependent upon the type of
production you were creating discuss:
- How the type of game would impact
on this
- How the budget would impact on this
- Factors that would impact on your
decisions to employee someone
- How you would recruit people (e.g
CV’s)
- Costs
TASK: Write about finance and recruitment
• Complete your section about finance first
Then write about personnel including:
- size of team
- Roles
- skills and experience
- resourcing
- Availability
- Costs
- team or crew CVs
- How you would need to consider the above for your FMP
or the type of game you are writing about.
