Landscape artist have the
ability to depict sconces
from both the rural and
urban communities
through their artworks.
Landscape – is a picture that
shows the natural scenery in
the surroundings. Natural
sceneries include mountains,
hills, valleys, and forest.
Space – refers to the area and
distance in, between, and
around objects. It can be
empty or full, or appear to be
near or far.
The space in landscape drawing
has three parts: the foreground,
middle ground, and background.
Foreground is the part that is at
the very front and often near the
bottom of the drawing.
Background is the part that
appears farthest from the viewer.
Middle ground is the part
between the foreground and
background.
Artist can show space,
distance, and depth in a
landscape drawing by
overlapping the objects
therein. They place objects or
shapes in front of others. The
object in front appears closer
and larger than the object
behind it.
There are 2 kinds of space – the
positive space and negative space.
 Positive space is the area
occupied by an object.
 Negative space is the area
between and around objects.
