1. Essential Newborn Care (Unang Yakap) - aims to reduce the
newborn mortality from 13 deaths to 10 per 1 000 live births, by 2015.
2. Newborn Screening - practice of testing every newborn to detect
and identify harmful or potentially fatal disorders.
3. Appearance, Pulse, Grimace, Activity, Respiration (APGAR) - a
quick test given to a newborn baby. test includes the breathing
effort, heart rate, muscle tone, reflexes, and skin color.
4. Immunization (Vaccination) - protect the body against infectious
disease.

1. Ovulation Method or Cervical Mucus
Method - woman uses the menstrual cycle
as a guide. the presence of cervial mucus
is a sgn that a woman is fertile and is prone

breastfeeing, the ovulation of the mother
stops. This is the natural and healthy way of
