AN ITALIAN RENASSANCE GENIUS
 Leonardo da Vinci was born in Vinci,
near Florence on 15th April 1452.
 He was a painter, a sculptor, an
architect, a musician, an engineer,
an inventor, an anatomist, a
geologist, a cartographer, a botanist
and a writer.
 He epitomized the Renassance
humanist ideal.
 He was educated in the studio of the famous
Florentine painter, Verrocchio and he spent
much of his earlier working life at the court of
Ludovico il Moro in Milan.
 He also worked in Rome, Bologna and
Venice and he spent the last years of his life
in France, where he died in 1519.
 The most famous paintings by Leonardo are the
Mona Lisa,which is at the Louvre Museum in
Paris and The Last Supper, which is in Santa
Maria delle Grazie in Milan.
 Moreover Leonardo was an inventor. He
designed flying machines, theatrical
machines, war machines, musical machines,
machines for use with and on water……….

you will admire working models by Leonardo and the
digitalized restoration of The Last Supper. This exhibition
has the patronage of Giorgio Napolitano, the president of
the Italian republic.
