This study evaluated implanting spinal cord stimulators (SCS) in patients who already had other implanted devices. It presented three case studies: 1) A man with a heart defibrillator who received a SCS for back pain with no issues over 5 months. 2) A man with a pacemaker whose SCS trial failed to relieve leg pain but his pacemaker was unaffected. 3) A woman with a bladder stimulator and expanded SCS coverage for back and knee pain, with no device interference over several years. The study concluded that while more research is needed, these cases found no evidence that SCS caused failures of other implanted devices.
