teacher. Here are a few tips to keep it up:
• Enjoy a leisurely walk around the block or try
a quick power walk.
• Hit the pool and swim a mean doggie paddle
or backstroke for about 30 minutes.
• Treat yourself to a little sweet hot tub time.
If you get off the track, get back on. It’s okay.

6. It can be tough to stay patient and positive
with the wide variety of challenges teachers
face. It’s nearly impossible if you don’t have
enough sleep.
• Build relaxing elements into your evening
routine.
• Set a bedtime and stick to it.
• If you miss, regroup and try again.

people at many moments. How about you?
• Get your head and heart right for your day.
• Take advantage of inspirational readings
from daily meditation books.
• Mix and match calming activities with quiet
time and the higher power of your
preference.
• Reflect on yesterday, set intentions for today.

stress can wear down even the best teachers.
• Get up early.
• Give yourself good-for-the-soul solitude and
the precious gift of time.
• Reach out to your friends during the day.

• Take pictures of the morning inspirational re-
read excerpts from the image.
• Little things such as a cute little gif or emoji
and a few words can brighten your planning
period or lunch, too.
• Think you're too busy? Think again.
• Take an actual lunch break away from your
desk. Step outside.

positivity and compassion while teaching, no
matter the ages or abilities of your students.
• Preparation is critical, but reality often throws
off the best laid plans.
• Students can set off emotional triggers,
which can lead to professional burnout.
• Emotional self-care like scheduled therapy
can provide structured support.
• For example, a Saturday session spent
sorting through your week's
accomplishments, mistakes, and in-between
gray areas can often be extremely beneficial.

impact those around you, too.
• Your significant other, friends, and family are
along for the ride.
• The strain of career, kids, health, and more
can be overwhelming.
• As relationships evolve, couples counseling
and shared reflection opportunities can be
really helpful in working through challenges,
including work/life balance.
