- 11. FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS Some may call it nosiness, but let your curiosity guide your actions, see potential and think laterally. Research people you have met or heard speak at an event – this is a great way to discover how you can best connect with them to develop your career. Could they be someone you can learn from or a role model? Or could they simply be someone doing the job you ultimately would love to do? You can learn a lot from the route they have followed and can incorporate elements into your own career plan.
- 12. • Read, research, learn Sharpen business acumen & leadership skills • Volunteer or contribute to special projects sponsored by key executives • Participate on special task forces and committees.
- 13. • Present in meetings. • Ask to shadow leaders. • Submit articles to orgs/ industry newsletter. • Blog or publish • Speak at conferences, on panels, in the media • Ask to be nominated for an award • Ask a colleague to “toot your horn”, and reciprocate

With top Social Networks like Facebook and YouTube both exceeding a billion monthly active users it has completely redefined the way we build and maintain relationships.
- The library is no longer a place only to consume. It is a place to expose to tools and technologies a place for mentorship. It is a place that encourages and generates all kinds of creativity and this is even more important in resource poor areas.
