Lean In Circles
What are the foundations of a circle?
Confidentiality
Trust is at the center of
Lean In Circles. What
happens in your Circle
should stay in your Circle.
Communication
Commit to sharing openly
and honestly—and to
listen with empathy.
Commitment
Everyone should invest in
your Circle’s success and
be fully present at
meetings.
What is a circle?
Lean In Circles are groups of 8-10 members that
share common goals.
Members are encouraged to share their
experiences, histories, and points of views with
the group to create a safe space that is conducive
for growth and empowerment.
Members keep each other accountable and offer
support and coaching for one another.
Why small
circles?
Small circles are an opportunity to
find a group of people that will keep
you accountable and help you grow.
Circles are a safe space for you to
discuss your toughest challenges
and greatest opportunities.
How does this fit in with Lean In LA?
Our Chapter is not SMALL - this is a GREAT thing though!
Circles are the backbone of Lean In. They are the essential way for Lean In members
to connect with other members and engage with a strong network of people that are
committed to self empowerment and growth.
Through the formation of circles, our chapter will be able to funnel the resources
every member might be in need of, create a tight knit community within a large
group, and provide opportunities for member engagement.
What does a Circle Moderator do?
● Shape the circle
○ Goals
○ Point of view
● Mind the health
○ Connection
○ Culture
○ Development
● Share ownership
○ Involve members
○ Distribute responsibility
