SUSTAINABILITY PLANNING
Approach:
We looked at four essential systems supporting Sustainability in
the business. Then we picked one of the four systems that the
team felt needed the most improvement (including: strategy
execution, improve core work processes, and enhance
community engagement).
We then went to work on suggested areas of improvement,
identifying activities, tools, and resources needed to improve
the process.
Output:
Clarified the purpose and wildly important goals (WIGs) and
measures to create a players scoreboard. Post the scoreboard
where everyone could see it. Assign someone to populate the
scoreboard each week to reflect progress on the WIGs.
CASE STUDY 1 : TIER 1 - CIVILS CONTRACTOR
Achievements:
Provide a cadence of accountability within a team environment, redefine how teams recognise and celebrate sustainable
performance. Develop a simple but effective strategy to achieve each WIG with excellence, over the coming 12-18 months.

BUSINESS GROWTH STRATEGY
Approach:
Through a thorough appraisal of the market opportunity,
resource planning and investment opportunities, a nine point
plan was constructed to help build up a cohesive strategy. A
key influence was the need to understand the risks associated
with growth, collaborative working and meeting customers
increasing expectations. This provided the context to identify
new business models, areas for value creation and niche
products and service development.
Output:
A strategy report was presented to the board detailing key
areas for ‘special’ attention. At each step of the way, a call to
action was introduced to drive to improvements, encourage
leadership buy-in, team accountability, individual ownership and
making excellence a habit.
CASE STUDY 2 : TIER 2 - M&E CONTRACTOR
Achievements:
A complete refresh of the strategy was needed to challenge current thinking around partnering on large frameworks. We helped to
align and streamline operations. Together with the top leadership team, we conducted a series of facilitated workshops to engage the
workforce, and through the use of Hoshin Planning and Lean Continuous Improvement (SCRIA) tools, established their vision, goals
and strategic plan over four different revenue streams.

BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT - BS11000
Approach:
Close contact and support supporting a tier 2 supplier. The work involved
gap analysis and programme support throughout the six month project.
Careful attention was made to partnering, risk management and value
creation.
Interestingly, collaborative working helped the tier 3 supplier to save £80k
on project delivery, and employee engagement with the tier 3 contractor
was at an all time high!
Output:
Successful BSI certification was achieved by the tier 2 partner. Key to its
success was providing a common language for the project team, with an
open door to management. Leaders extended trust to suppliers and team
members, allowing strategic decisions to be made, that improved
programme delivery, saving time and money.
CASE STUDY 3 : TIER 3 - SPECIALIST SUPPLIER/SYSTEMS INTEGRATOR
Achievements:
BS11000 helped the tier 2 deliver safer, quicker and cheaper. It was also a major stepping stone in the pursuit of behavioural
change within the organisation.
