Character is developed through personality, values, relationships, and experiences. A leader must develop their own character and guide the character development of subordinates. Key requirements for leadership character include being unselfish, just, a role model, physically strong, morally energetic, fearless, strict, a reader, humble, able to negotiate, have a tough outlook but sensitive heart, lead from the front, have tactical wisdom, and take risks. Leaders develop character through determining their own dominant behaviors and values, setting goals, hard work and challenging experiences. They also establish a command climate and reward actions that provide stressful experiences to
