The purpose of the study was to investigate the role of head teachers in enforcing quality assurance
and standards in secondary schools in Eldoret West Distrct. Based on the findings of the study, this paper
specifically examines the role of the head teachers in ensuring quality and standards in secondary schools. The
study utilized the descriptive research design. The study targeted head teachers and teachers in both public and
private secondary schools in Eldoret West District. To obtain the study sample, the target population was
stratified into two categories, i.e. private and public schools. From each stratum, 30 per cent of the total
numbers of schools were selected for inclusion in the study. All the head teachers from the selected schools
automatically qualified to participate while the teachers were selected through simple random sampling. Data
was collected using a questionnaire and an interview schedule. The collected data was analyzed descriptively
using means and percentages. This is because the mean is considered as the most efficient measure of central
tendency. The data analysis was done with the aid of Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS) software
which makes it easy to compare variables whose relationships are being studied. The study findings revealed
that the procedure of supervision involved the head teacher calling a meeting to discuss the purpose of
supervision, the objectives of supervision, both parties agreeing on the objectives and as well as determining the
criteria of supervision. The role of the head teacher in supervision include: enforcing teacher compliance with
quality and standards in teaching, providing leadership towards enforcing quality and standards, providing
moral and material support and motivating the teachers during the process of supervision. The study
recommends that there is need to incorporate the elements of quality and standards in the supervision criteria
and purpose.

This document discusses the concept of hijab as more than just a head covering, but rather as a way of life. It summarizes verses from the Quran and hadith that outline the principles of hijab, including: modestly covering the body and not displaying beauty except to specific family members; lowering one's gaze; avoiding see-through, tight, or attention-attracting clothing; prohibiting makeup, perfume, or loud accessories in public; and not mixing or conversing freely with non-mahram men. The document stresses that hijab involves all forms of interaction and carries a sense of modesty and honor in one's behavior, speech, and manner of walking.
Major K. Shamshad discusses aspects of classroom climate including intellectual, social, emotional, and physical factors. Shamshad outlines strategies for creating a positive learning environment such as addressing students by name, establishing rules, and providing non-verbal encouragement. The document suggests positive education can transform traditional teaching concepts by empowering students and creating a bright future for successful schooling.
An elderly Chinese woman carried two pots on a pole across her neck daily to fetch water - one pot was cracked while the other was perfect. For two years, the cracked pot could only deliver half as much water as the perfect pot due to its crack. However, the woman had planted flower seeds along the path on the cracked pot's side, which it watered daily on the return journey, allowing her to pick beautiful flowers to decorate her home. She told the cracked pot that without its flaw, there would be no beauty from the flowers. Each person has their own unique flaws or cracks, but it is these flaws that make life together interesting and rewarding.
This is my humble contribution for teachers of the world to enable them become GREAT TEACHERS who inspire.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

What makes great Principals
The classroom teacher is the most visible person in your
child's life at school, but it is the Principal who is responsible
for providing a high- quality education for all students there.
Principals vary in strategy, temperament, and leadership style,
but the great ones have who meet the real-life challenges of
their jobs have four characteristics in common:
1.Great Principals take responsibility for school success.
2.Great Principals lead teaching and learning.
3.Great Principals hire, develop and retain excellent teachers.
4.Great Principals build a strong school community.

Questions to ask at your school
1. Ask your Principal: What challenges does the school face?
2. Ask your Principal: What is the plan to meet those challenges?
3. Ask your child's teacher:
How does the Principal get involved when a student is having trouble?
For example, most schools today have very limited budgets, making it difficult to pay for
innovative new programs. When the Principal , finds a new program which will benefit
students, No time is to be wasted lamenting lack of funding.
Get busy. Immediately begin thinking of who in the community can help support and pay for
the program through created partnerships with businesses, local colleges, and health care
professionals that help enrich school's curriculum.
Whatever challenges they face, great principals don't make excuses for why their
schools can't succeed. Instead they make it their top priority to figure out how
their schools can excel, and do everything they can to make that happen.
