This document provides an overview of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), including what AAC is, who uses it, different AAC methods and devices, and how to implement AAC. It discusses static vs. dynamic and low-tech vs. high-tech AAC options. It also addresses positioning devices, accessing devices, selecting vocabulary, training activities, implementation strategies, and benefits of AAC for communication and language development. Case scenarios are presented to demonstrate applying this information.
