2.  Telecommunications Industry is broader than it was in the past.
 It encompasses multiple service providers, including telephone
companies, cable system operators, Internet service providers,
wireless carriers, and satellite operators.
 The industry today includes software-based applications with a
communications emphasis and intermediate layers of software
incorporated into end-to-end communication services.
 It also includes suppliers of telecommunications equipment and
software products sold directly to consumers and also to service
providers, as well as the telecommunications service providers.
 Indian mobile telephony may be called as “the sun-rise industry” of
the Indian economy because of outstanding performance on various
parameters.

3.  To know how poor infrastructure is ruining
the telecom industry
 To investigate the possible impact of poor
infrastructure on entire telecom industry as
well as focus on fundamentals relates to this
particular industry.

4.  Lack of telecom infrastructure in semi-rural and rural areas
could be one of the major hindrances in tapping the huge
rural potential market, going forward.
 The service providers have to incur a huge initial fixed cost
to enter rural service areas.
 The lack of trained personnel in the rural area to operate
and maintain the cellular infrastructure, especially passive
infrastructure such as towers.
 Many rural areas in India lack in basic infrastructure such
as road and power. Developing telecom infrastructure in
these areas involve greater logistical risks and also extend
the time taken to roll out telecom services.

5.  Investments in new types of telecommunications
infrastructure can result in greater benefits than
marginal improvements to existing infrastructure.
 Maintenance of the telecommunications
infrastructure is necessary to obtain the full economic
development benefits.
 Telecommunication investments affect economic
development . It can reduce the cost of production. It
can increase revenues. Finally, it can increase
employment through both direct and indirect effects.

6.  The research design we will used in this study is a
survey design. The cross-sectional survey design will be
used.
 This design entitle the collection of data of more than
one case and at a single point in time in order to collect
a body of qualitative or quantifiable data in connection
with several variables which are then examined to
detect the patterns of association.
 In research design, errors may occur :
 Random sampling error
 Non-sampling error
 Non-response error
