Small Industries Service Institutes (SISIs), now known as Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Institutes, were established across India to provide institutional support to small-scale industries. They offer assistance to prospective and existing entrepreneurs through consultancy, industrial profiling, and training. Similarly, the Small Industry Development Organization (SIDO), now known as the MSME Development Organization, advises the government on policy and provides technical, economic, and managerial support to small businesses through its network of institutes. The institutes focus on areas like counseling, market information, quality control, energy conservation, export promotion, and pollution control to promote small industry development.
