3. 1. Overview
Analysis is a detailed study of the various operation performed
by a system and their relationships within and outside of the
system. A key question is: What must be done to solve the
problem? One aspect of analysis is defining the boundaries of
the system and determining whether or not a candidatesystem
should consider other related systems. During analysis, data are
collected on the availablefiles, decisionpoints, and transactions
are handled by the present system. Data flow diagram,
interviews,on site observationandquestionnaires areexamples.
The interview is commonly used tool in analysis. Our visiting to
Bangladesh Cable Industry limited, Khulna we took a interview
from the GM and the Assistant Engineer. It required specialskills
and sensitivity to the subjects being interviewed. Bias in data
collection and interpretation can be a problem. Training,
experience and common sense is required for collection of the
information needed to do the analysis.

Present Government is highly committed to set up high
processing factory to develop this production system.
 Taking steps to produce LAN cable used for internet
and LAN network.
 Taking steps to build a Super Anameld Copper Wire
which is widely used in electricity sector and various
instruments.
 Building Drop Fibre Cable Making Plant for FTTH as
well as installing necessary machines and instruments
for Pigtail and Patch Cord.

5. 2.1 Factory Analysis
Bangladesh Cable Industry Limited, Khulna People's Republic
of Bangladesh Postal and Telecommunications Division; An
industry organization under the Ministry of Post,
Telecommunication and IT. The company was established in
Khulna with the joint initiativeof the then Pakistani government
of 1967 and M / s SiemensAG of West Germany. Since 1972, this
company has been producing commercially international
standard telecommunications copper cables fulfilling 100%
demand of the country.
Considering the ever increasing demand of fiber optic
cables. in the current mobile, internet and information
technology era, opticalfiber cable manufacturing plant is set up
in a modern technology, which started commercial production
from last July-2011. The company has been able to make profit
every yearand itsyearlyrevenue in2010 exceeded 1 billion taka.
Work on construction of factory buildingsto set up electric
overhead conductor, service drop cable and bare / insulated
wire making plant has been started at a cost of Tk. 24.16 crore
for the purpose of production multiplication under its own
funding. The work of evaluating international tender in the
purchase of essential machinery,matching materialsandservice
is in the final phase. Hopefully the plant will start in January
2019.

The government factories are established to make less profit
rather to provide service to the general people. On the
contrary, the private factories are built to make a larger profit.

This study examines the market for polymer materials in the
factory we have visited:

 Communicationcables
The communicationcablessegment is growing faster than the
buildingwire segment. In particular, demand for optical fibre is
increasing. Due to the relatively lower productioncosts in
emerging markets, power cable productionis migrating away
from developedmarkets.
Many plasticsare used as insulationand jacketing materialsfor
wires and cables. The selection of the insulationof jacketing
material dependson the material’sabilityto meet cable
specifications.
The market is dominated by PVC and polyolefins, which
together account for 85.0 % of polymer usage in the wire and
cable industry.

9. At last wire and cable materialscan be considered commodity
products. In such a market, product differentiation,research
and development , and branding are extremely important and
are key success factors.
