HISTORICAL BAKGROUND  In 1905, Einstein suggested an experiment that provided the first convincing experimental verification of Quantum theory.Though photo emission of electrons was first observed by Hertz in 1877.
INTRODUCTION  What is photoelectric effect?  The photoelectric effect is the emission of electrons when electromagnetic radiation, such as light, hits a material. Electrons emitted in this manner are called photoelectrons  We have to prove that the velocity of electrons leaving the surface of a metal when irradiated by monochromatic light depends upon the wavelength not upon the intensity of the radiation .
