This document discusses the influence of globalization on architecture in Kuwait. It describes how early modern architecture in Kuwait followed international trends, resulting in a loss of local identity. Examples from the 1970s-1980s show the influence of modernist styles from Western architects. Later, neo-Islamic styles incorporated some traditional Islamic elements in novel ways. After Kuwait's liberation in 1991, late modern and post-modern movements from the West became more prominent. Some recent projects have tried to blend global materials and techniques with traditional Arab forms to preserve continuity and local identity.
