Rural Areas are deprived of basic amenities such as access to drinking water, electricity, toilets and sewage systems giving rise to unhygienic conditions in the rural areas. Lack of healthcare facility in terms of infrastructure and staff has aggravated problems of health leading to infant mortality, death of pregnant mothers, decreased average life span in rural areas. Poor quality of teaching fraternity and non availability of infrastructure are major reason for illiteracy and unemployment. Non-agricultural income such as animal husbandry, sericulture and vocational trainings that supplement the agricultural income that needs to be focused. Mechanization should be the priority in enhancing agricultural yield followed by storage and transportation facility to the market in raising agricultural income. Excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides due to lack of knowledge among farmers contribute to water as well as air pollution deteriorating the environment. The disposable income spent on cultural aspects needs to be taken into consideration in assessing the status of the rural area. There is a need to assess rural areas from five dimensions such as economic, education, health, environment and disposable income in understanding present level of development in rural areas. Cause and effect diagram is established contributing to the development of specified domains. The conceptual index is a composition of Result Index and Cause Index. This distinction aids in examining the result index to measure the current level of rural development and cause index to evaluate the process of rural development for policy makers in identifying the areas of improvement in the overall development of the rural area.
This article presents the participation levels of the NSS volunteers' in National Service Scheme (NSS) activities in two
districts of North Andhra Pradesh. NSS is a central government scheme initiated to promote the student youth to work for
the community development which leads to building a better nation. This is a quantitative study, adopted the convenience sampling method and
collected the data from 842 students from these eight colleges through a structured questionnaire. The study found that 82.8 per cent of the
respondents actively participated in the regular activities of the NSS programme, 72.9 per cent of the respondents participated in the rallies of
awareness programmes. The study found that 78.3 per cent of the respondents participated in Environmental day, 70.9 per cent of the respondents
participated in International Yoga day, and 68.3 per cent of the respondents participated in Indian Republic day celebrations. The Covid-19
pandemic is one of the reasons for the reduction of the participation of the NSS volunteers. The functioning of the programme ofcers (POs) and
NSS units in the colleges are satisfactory. The students need more guidance from the POs and concerned authorities to increase more participation
from NSS volunteers.

From House to Home; Building for a Dignified Living. Martin Scherfler
The Auroville Green Practices Summer School program is an initiative using Auroville and its outstanding experience in human unity & sustainable living as a platform for the learning and personal growth of students from around the world.
This publication documents the three-week Auroville Green Practices Summer School 2013 ‘Building for a Dignified Living’. The publication was prepared in a collaborative way by participating students and facilitators. Those were: Aakash Divanji, Aashman Goghari, Aishwarya Das, Carlotta Dabove, Chaitanya Krishna Kumar, Chirag Batra, Jasmitha Arvind, Karishma Asarpota, Manu Gopalan, Martin Scherfler, Nicole Soellinger, Parinitha Vishweshwar, Pragna Prasad, Pranav DM, Pranay Golecha, Priscilla Joseph, Richa Raut, Richard Kleinjans, Sarmistha Saha, Shefali Mendon, Siddharth Chourasiya, Somya Gupta, Stefanie B. Overbeck, Sushruthi Krishna, Tania Poggi, Tapas Upadhyay.
This publication documents the endeavor of the Auroville Green Practices (AGP) Summer School 2013, to find solutions for today’s fragmented educational systems. Higher education today is exclusively a skill & competencies oriented learning program. It produces, at its best, a recruitable work force for a market that operates on the premise that more consumption creates a better quality of life. What our current educational paradigm fundamentally produces is a perpetuation and acceleration of unsustainable development and inequality due to a fragmented educational system. Conventional educational paradigms do not address the entire human being and its place in the cosmos. It lacks the freedom an individual needs for inner growth and fails to cultivate principles of social
and environmental justice and dignity for all.

Women have three distinct types of involvement: direct involvement in terrorist acts; enabling of others to commit such acts; and facilitating the disengagement of others from violent or extremist groups.
In a May 9, 2024 paper, Juri Opitz from the University of Zurich, along with Shira Wein and Nathan Schneider form Georgetown University, discussed the importance of linguistic expertise in natural language processing (NLP) in an era dominated by large language models (LLMs).
The authors explained that while machine translation (MT) previously relied heavily on linguists, the landscape has shifted. “Linguistics is no longer front and center in the way we build NLP systems,” they said. With the emergence of LLMs, which can generate fluent text without the need for specialized modules to handle grammar or semantic coherence, the need for linguistic expertise in NLP is being questioned.
