The NSS-DTU unit was inaugurated in 2013 to establish a link between the campus and community and orient students towards community service. It has around 125 student volunteers from various engineering disciplines. Activities have included maintaining order at cultural events, welcoming freshers, health camps, tree plantations, cloth donations, tuition for primary students, and plans for self-defense workshops, adopting villages, rural camps, and conducting an energy audit of the campus. The goal is to expose students to social issues and poverty while benefiting the community.
