Model Based Process Improvement
 Is the type of approach that CMMI uses.
 The other models available are ISO and
Malcolm Baldidge.
CMMI based Process Improvement is more focused towards a specific industry whereas the others are generic in
nature and can be adopted by any industry.
Although there are difference in approaches, there are also similarities as follows:
 Each approach select a process and not product to be improved.
 The result is an improved product.
 Each approach use team either formally or informally having planning and research in common.
 Definition of current process and the proposed changes are documented.
 Results are communicated between stake holders.

CMMI based Process Improvement is more focused towards a specific industry whereas the others are generic in nature and can be adopted by any industry.
