Nikos Kouroussis is a major Cypriot artist born in 1937 in Mitsero. He emerged as a leading artist in Cyprus in the 1960s and is renowned for his paintings, sculptures, and installations. Kouroussis has exhibited his work widely in Cyprus, Germany, Athens, London, New York, and other locations. He continues exploring new forms of expression, recently incorporating technology and video into his pieces. The Museum Foundation Nikos Kouroussis in Mitsero houses a collection of Kouroussis' paintings, prints, sculptures, video installations, photographs, and stage designs, chronicling his long career.

2. Nikos Kouroussis was born in Mitsero, in 1937. He is among
the major Cypriot artists. He appeared at the forefront in the early
years of the 1960s and he is famous for the paintings, the
sculptures and the installations he has created all these years.
He has shown his work in one-man exhibitions in Cyprus
and abroad: Germany, Athens, London, New York, etc.
He is continuously exploring new means of expression. He
recently integrated technology in his work and he was the first
artist who embraced the expressive possibilities of the video.
The Museum Foundation Nikos Kouroussis is situated in
Mitsero and brings together paintings, printmaking, sculptures,
video installations, photography and stage design from the artist’s
long cultural and artistic history.

3. We visited the Museum Foundation Nikos Kouroussis during May last
year.
This school year, we studied further the work of the artist and we made
some drawings based on his work.
