Nikiphoros Lytras was a Greek painter born in 1832 who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich after winning a scholarship in 1860, influencing the development of the Munich School of painting. Some of his notable works include a Self Portrait from 1867 and The Straw Hat from 1923-1926 which is in the National Gallery of Greece.
