Konglish refers to the use of English words and phrases in Korean language contexts. There are two types of Konglish - words used in the Korean vernacular that have taken on new meanings, and pseudo-anglicisms where Koreans attempt to use English words and structures. Many Konglish words originated from Japanese due to historical influences, while others developed from Koreans' attempts to adopt and use English words. Konglish is considered by some to be nonstandard English, but it allows Koreans to communicate and should not necessarily be viewed as "bad".
