The Use and Impact of Library E-resources at Al Akhawayn University in MoroccoAziz EL Hassani
This presentation provides an overview of electronic resources made available through Mohammed VI Library at Al Akhawayn University. It also discusses the use and the impact of Library E-resources on the academic performance of library users. Finally, it briefly describes Mohammed VI Library’s Information Literacy initiative which has become a valued and respected support service at Al Akhawayn University.
An attempt is made at this point to undertaking issues associated in the direction of the LIS education in
India and specified some suggestions based on routine features and experiences. This paper presents a historical
outlook of Library and Information Science (LIS) education in India. This paper discusses the study also put
forward the fundamentals of the LIS curriculum and the vision of LIS education in India for the future decade and
stresses the wants of revised course contents and allied challenges for readiness of Indian LIS education in the digital
environment. Finally, this paper highlights the recommendations of the National Knowledge Commission offer an
opportunity for restructuring and modifying the educational system of LIS that needs to be snatched.

In recent times, computer-based technologies have become dominant forces to shape and reshape the
products and service that university library offers. The application of computer technologies has had a profound
impact on the way library resources are being used. The study focused on the use of Internet service by
postgraduate students for research in Francis Sulemanu Idachaba Library, University of Agriculture Makurdi.
Descriptive survey was used as design of the study. A questionnaire titled Use of Internet Service by
Postgraduate Students for Research Questionnaire (UISPSRQ) was used to collect data from a sample of 270
postgraduate students of University of Agriculture, Makurdi. The sample was drawn from the population of
2000 postgraduate students. The findings revealed that 37.78% had received Internet training from external
sources. The Internet skill of 44.44% was rated average. Only 22% used the Internet daily and 87.41 % claimed
that digital libraries had greatly enhanced their academic performance. Majority of 51.11% used Internet
facilities outside the University mainly for research and education activities. Problems encountered included
longtime to view or download web pages and insufficient computers. The study revealed that the use of Internet
had led to decreased in the use of traditional library facilities but only 94 % were fully satisfied with the
Internet facilities. A large majority of 92.96% were of the opinion that proper guidance of students in the use of
e-resource was needed.

Wikipedia and libraries are two significant initiatives that seek to open the door to knowledge. Libraries can inspire and guide users to contribute content to the Wikipedia project. This article describes the significance of libraries to coordinate Wikipedia activities for the user community.
Self Publishing is the publication of an author's work without the help of any publishing house. The author takes full responsibility for the publishing process, and they print and sell it using either alone or with the help of self-publishing service providers. The author has the freedom to make independent decisions. The author will have complete control over the manuscript selection, processing, printing, marketing and distribution of the book. This presentation talks about the various approaches to the self-publishing of books.
WordPress Plugins are add on tools with WordPress content management system, useful for easy information management on websites. Mahatma Gandhi University Library website adopted WordPress Plugins for the management of the staff and the e-resources directory. The user-friendly control centre of the plugins helps the library staff updates the information on the website without any delay and errors.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
